If I used something like Express VPN , would I see a decrease in ping rating? I live in norway and have an average ping of 110.

    If you ping is 110 you probably wont

    For some there will be for others no, it depends on the route, besides 110 ping is good.

    Just curious what ISP do you use? I also live in Norway (hei på deg :smiley: ) and I use Telia with mobile broadband; my ping is also around 110.

    By the looks of it I'm geting fibre optic this year and hopefully it will improve my latency. If VPN could improve latency I might try it.

    I don't mean to hijack your thread OP, but I have a similar question in regards to ping.

    Is there any solution for players in Asian and Middle Eastern countries? We get a minimum ping of 190+ ms in Middle East and 250+ ms in India :neutral:

    Would appreciate any insight :)

    Doesn't look like there is much difference in ISP for those of us in Norway.

    Telenor(~85 to ~110) Mostly ~110.

    Yea I remember when I played from Oslo I had like 80-90 ping avg.

    Wierd thing is a friend of mine who played less then a 2 hour drive from where the server is supposedly geographically located had same ping as me. :/

    @olsborg Getting below 80ms is pretty hard unless your route to the end node is fairly straight and unhindered.

    Variance depending on ISP is probably a bigger deal in Germany then anywhere else for servers located there, as some people have in the past reported getting stable latency of around 35ms which to my mind seems too low to be true :)

    I wouldnt waste your money on a VPN if your getting 110.
    You northerners have got it sweet. Us peasants in the south get the shaft.

    VPNs are against the ToS and you can get a permaban for it.
    FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
    FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
    FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
    FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.

    Incorrect.

    In fact it is quite the opposite. ZoS explicitly states that they may monitor, block or filter your IP, MAC address or proxy used to play the game. This implies that it is fine to use a proxy.

    You really shouldn't spread misinformation unless you can provide a quote or link.
