Hilariously, her dialog was grammatically incorrect. Her dialog was, "Neither a borrower or a lender be." Which is both, not what she's quoting, and, like I said, grammatically wrong.

I’d like for the NPCs in Cyrodiil to recognize my Alliance War rank and comment on it instead of referencing some accomplishment in PVE.

Can you imagine if the NPCs could comment on what's happening in your home campaign?

"Hey Lieutenant, the Covenant is stealing our scrolls, shouldn't you be doing something about that?"
"I heard we crowned an emperor! Well done!"
"A minion of the foul Dominion sits on the Ruby Throne. Go show them the might of the Pact, General!"
"I heard you killed 20 enemy wardens. However did you find so many?"

But I'd love it if every time I port into Cyrodiil my Grand Warlord gets to yell "Do you know how long I've been looking for you?! Get out and fight!"

I always took it not that you had just bragged about it, but that the talk of the town about your accomplishment had been going around. But having come across you, she just isn't impressed.

I personally don't mind it. But then again I'm the type that can tune things out (or so my wife says...usually with an irritated sound in her voice!)

In my case, I like it as it lends to the background noise and makes me feel like I'm part of a live world instead of a troped video game. But I can get why some folks have a hard time tuning it out (it would drive my wife crazy).

I don't see any reason why they can't institute a decay engine into the game with a toggle in the game menu) that would fade the quest comments out after a certain time frame...say, 48 hours or so of game time after you trigger the events. that way you can enjoy it when you do it, but after awhile it returns to normal.

Actually, the thing that gets me more then those repetitive comments are the quests that made sense when one tamriel was a pipe dream. like meeting an NPC from Daggerfall in the clockwork city that welcomes his old buddy....when I never did that quest chain. It's an expected downside to 1tam, but comical all the same.
