MagSorc DPS Gear (Dragon Bones)

I've read over Alcast's new builds for MagSorc DPS in DB and have some questions that I would like to open up to the community regarding gear for the next patch.

Link for reference: https://alcasthq.com/eso-magicka-sorcerer-pet-build-pve-db/

1 - Currently I am running 5/1/1 5x Julianos, 4x IA, 2x Ilambris, with a PetSorc build. Alcast's new builds feature Mechanical Acuity or the venerable Necropotence. In whatever terms are appropriate (percentage, raw DPS, qualitative, etc.) what level of DPS improvement should I expect by switching to either of these two? How significant is the DPS spread between Necro and Mechanical Acuity?

2 - In regards to the Mechanical Acuity set on a PetSorc; I see that the suggestion is to slot Inner Light an Bound Aegis to maximize Magicka to push the DPS of the familiar. My question is, is this the best use of the Mechanical Acuity set? Given that set seems best suited to burst damage, would having one or more of (Crushing Shock/CFrags/Clench) be more useful than one of (Bound Aegis/Inner Light), the thought being to spend the 5 seconds of 100% crit spamming the living daylights out of them?

3 - Does anyone have any numbers regarding the DPS gap between Pet/Non-Pet for DB? I would like to know if they are converging or diverging.

Thanks in advance for any answers. I'm an Xbox player so I can't just go test it myself yet, but I would like to be prepared for the DLC before it goes live.

PS - I couldn't decide if this should go under PTS or C&CM but I decided to put it here because Dragon Bones (hereafter "DB") goes live soon anyway. Admins feel free to move if necessary.

Your questions are good ones, @MyrddinEmrys ... but I think no one is posting replies because we really don't know your playstyle, DPS, rotation, and personal capability for improvement.

Indeed, you are kind of late to the party for anyone to test for you on PTS. However, Necropotence and Mechanical Acuity are pretty easy to get on Live (Moondancer is not - but you're not referring to it in the OP). And that is something you can get in order before the patch drops.

I can say the Mechanical Acuity build does not revolve around the familiar pulse. Alcast has the usual layers of AOE skills on the back bar ... and is still keeping the Elemental Storm ultimate even after it took a radius nerf in the PTS patch notes. AOE skills can crit too just like any other direct damage skill.

Though Alcast recommends both Bound Aegis and Inner Light to maximize your Hardened Ward damage shield (max magicka) ... there's no reason why you can't do a bit of theorycrafting on your own and try some single target skills.
