I see huge dolmen groups at Alik'r (EU/PC). I imagine that's what they're doing. Ppl even join via textchat.

Yep, dolmen groups at Alik'r and Auridon ... just "x" up in zone to join. Sometimes groups are full. So you'll have to "y" or "z" up in that case.

IMO it's worth grinding only to get to 50 on existing characters or if you want to reach CP160 on new character fast and benefit from maximum tier gear. Past that you're basically wasting the time you can spend better actually learning how to play, since XP and subsequently CP are earned very fast trough normal gameplay and you'll reach the cap in a few months just doing dungeons and whatnot.

I've trained new characters from 10-50 in normal Maelstrom Arena (solo instance) and topped that off with a bit more XP on dolmens after that to level some specific skill lines. I actually consider Alik'r a bad choice since it's so popular and you won't get a lot of XP from killing mobs on dolmen since it's split with so many players; most likely you'll only rely on the XP from the dolmen completion itself. I would consider other zones for that. My favorite is Deshaan, since dolmens are also pretty close to shrines, and, grinding already CP160+ get the jewelry sets at maximum level. I ended up selling a bunch of Mother's Sorrow and Plague Doctor purple jewels. I only grind during double XP events since I couldn't bear it otherwise.

The XP pots alluded to here are called Psijic Ambrosia and they are usually available at guild traders for around 3-4,000 gold; there's also a more expensive version called Aetherial Ambrosia or Mythic Aetherial Ambrosia but those carry a much higher price tag and they are not worth it since the % XP bonuses are additive with each other. The catch is that they only last 30 minutes, and to fully make use of them you'll need Provisioning passive Connoisseur 3/3 that boosts that to 50 minutes and you'll need that skill line maximized to get them all. Personally I don't use crafted consumables, since I've found quite a few XP scrolls in the free Crown Crates that I receive from time to time as subscriber. Also having gear crafted/dropped with Training trait boosts XP gained from killing mobs so I'd recommend crafting sets every 10 levels or finding someone to craft them for you to speed things up.

You need skill points though. Xp isn't enough. Grab a bunch of skyshards before you even do too much grinding. Then find a group for public dungeons. There's a skill point and a sky shard in each one. Public dungeons are good for xp grinding anyway. As you level things you want to unlock skills so that you can also level and learn to use those while you get all that xp. There's no point in a leveled toon with insufficient skill points.
