House: Best Value for Gold?

I'm finally getting my foot on the Tamriel property ladder and wondered which homes people think give you the most bang for your buck?

I've heard Snugpod is super convenient.

The home right outside Riften gives you fast access to one of the best hubtowns in the game, which has stables closest to your house on the way in, and a wayshrine pretty close after that, then all of the services available a mere 7-second ride from there.

Gorinir Estate is a very good value but Snugpod is very convenient particularly if you're Aldmeri Dominion due to its proximity to the Undaunted Tents.

Mournoth Keep. It's the same size as some of the smaller large houses, but it's only 323k. Ald Velothi is good value too.

All of the large houses are also good value (except Dawnshadow, Quondam Indorilia, and Mistveil Manor, since they're quite small). The large houses are very similar in size to the manors, but only 1/3 the price.

In terms of useable, interesting space for your money, it's hard to beat the Ald Velothi Harbor House, Autumn's Gate, and Mathiisen Manor, from a value perspective, but those are pretty far from anywhere useful.

In terms of usefulness/adjacency to good things, Grymharth's Woe, Gardner House, and Snugpod are all nice choices.

I don't own all of these personally (I own Ald Velothi and Autumn's Gate myself), just judging from the previews and what's nearby.

EDIT: Forgot to mention Mournoth Keep, like MLGProPlayer said. Also a nice value.

I own a few inc manors but the ones I use the most are cyrodelic jungle house to wayshrine, I own snugpod too but prefer this as I find it loads in quicker with less complaint. Gardner house for master writs esp, sleek creek house, I'd say is general best outlaws refuge outside door and next to rawl'kha. And everything is close there
For decorating I now prefer a large house I own over manors as they feel fuller at the end.i own strident Springs and Gardner house I stupidly bought more manors initially but I think any of the large homes would be best for decorating so bang is in that.

My favorite for what I can do with it is Autumn's Gate. Decent sized yard and interior. Really versatile with how you can make it look.
Most convenient for me (that I own) is Sleek Creek. I do a lot of stealing and pickpocketing. Sleek Creek is real close to thieves den and not much of a run to Rawl'kha.

I think "best value" is subjective... if it's proximity to services, I think the Flaming Nix room is the best, because all the guild traders and crafting tables are right next to the wayshrine, which is like 30sec away - and the writ dropoff and Rolis Hlaalu are just outside the city gate. Though it's a bit of a ride to the Undaunted of course, in which case Snugpod would be better in that regard.

However, if by "best value" you mean aesthetics, I would say Hundings. Dat beach, tho...

I really do like where that home is but I don’t think it’s worth the price tag considering some of the other homes of the same value in the game. It’s a bit.......small.

It's mostly an outdoor place. You basically pay for the yard. There's a building in Eastmarch that is literally the exact same house but only the interior with no yard and I think it's 1/3rd the price.

I love my Argonian mud mansion. Stay-Moist, Hist Brothers and Sisters.

Hundings just feels bigger than most of the manors, at a fraction of the price.

Snugpod is very convenient, yes. It doesnt provide much freedom in terms of decorating (basically its just one round room) but its very useful - there are stables, master writ guy, wayshrine and undaunted enclave nearby.

Sleek Creek house is also pretty good. Its a 400 slot house near Rawl'Kha and that city is one of the best places to park your char.

Exorcised coven cottage is great for decorating (it might be the most "flexible" one style-wise: it can be spooky, or cozy or pretty much anything else). Its small but still has a 400 item limit which means that you can make it more detailed.

Amaya Lake lodge looks good and has a lot of space to decorate. Its both a pro and con - the house has a 600 items limit which is not enough to make it super detailed.

Hundings palatial hall is a very popular house, and there is a good reason for that. It only costs 1,25 million (iirc), provides 600 slots and is almost as big as those vanilla manors.

Strident Springs Demesne - 600 slots, huge outdoor area and a waterfall. What not to love?

Surprised no mention of Ravenhurst. Cozy inside with two floors, a walled courtyard and in Rivenspire, one of the best vanilla zones. Best part, it's only around 260k

Best value for gold I think it's without a doubt Twin Arches, you pay the price of a small house but the house is not that small at all, you have good space inside and outside.
There is an awful downside though... the items slots number is in fact the one of small houses, while the house in not that small

The Ample Domicile is very good, it's medium and the cost is way lower than other medium houses, very nice courtyard.
