Help plz, what do I use to make a floor?

Need to make upper levels. I know how to do stairs. What is the best housing item to use as floor boards to make an upper level?

There’s planks but they then to have gaps between them and a board that pops up. Orc platforms are one of the best items to use because of there size, price in the crownstore and the wooden boards tend to look old and worn in. A fancier and more expensive item would be daedric platforms.

It’s tough. There aren’t great building materials. All of the items I list can be viewed on eso fashion. Some ideas:


Platform, weathered dock: cheap, good floorboards. Has the lower planks, which can be made to look like buttresses, but not ideal. Purchase at plain furnisher.

Rough planks, wide: cheap, large. Boards are wonky and look cheap.

Orcish bar, block: nice, long boards that are tidy. Will make a 2 ft thick floor, but not a bad option.

Statue base (luxury item only) or Argonian tile: for a stone floor. Thin, easy to customize. Use upside down for a smooth floor.

Clockwork something or other (not helpful, lol) The furnisher In clockwork city sells a brass plate that can be used for walls or floors. It’s a pretty large item, amd can make a thin, tidy floor that can be customized.

Breton bookcase, tall. Breton furniture has nice woodwork that can usually be lined up creatively. I used these bookcases, which are cheap to make and very square, to make a floor for a boat.

Argonian trellises with maybe some ivy thrown on top of them. Or rugs.

It really depends on how thick you want the floor to be especially if you can see it from the lower levels.Rough Planks, Platform and Rough Planks, Wide can help make you really thin floors while things like Orcish Platform, Block make much nicer looking tops but they have invisible bottoms and are pretty thick.

another option, as per https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAjfXLb1g0A idea - bolted paintings. their bottoms have very smooth surface and you can either stack to to make plain ceiling and floor, or keep the painting part as ceiling decoration. they are pretty cheap on guild traders nowadays.
