jewelry resistances

i've read some time ago on an older topic that resistances like the Bosmer racial or Dunmer racial would grant immunity to also getting the poisoned debuff or burning debuff. Are these true? This means, if i enchant a ring with fire resistance, i won't be able to get the burning status effect?

that's because it's most likely a bug. For now it's "working as intended", but the tooltip of the specific resistance stats do not say they are also immune to the status effects of their respective attacks.

I do agree the frost resistance is pretty useless, although I watched a recent video by Gilliam the Rogue, who pointed out that elemental resistances, any amount of them, make the character immune to the secondary effect of that damage type. In other words, Nords cannot get the Minor Maim from the Chilled effect. Not sure about roots. Would be nice if they were immune to frost based roots, but I doubt it.

hey @fred4, do you have that video you talked about in this topic
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/398264/which-racial-passives-need-improved-replaced/p1

i've been searching this kind of info too, i also complained about the game not giving such information in this topic too
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/393020/can-we-have-better-tooltips#latest

it's true that a racial passive granting bonus to fire resistance for example, it will get immune to burning status effect? would i also get immune to burning status effect as an orc if i put fire resistance on a ring?

Resistances ... the source of much confusion. Fortunately, we have @Gilliamtherogue and his awesome videos to explain things like this to us.

Gilliam recently put out a video that explains how resistances work in ESO (armor, enchants, racial, etc)

Resist immunity to debuffs come from the main DMG mitigation thread. It's honestly a bug, because resist do not mean immunity to separate debuffs. But to compensate jewel resist should include crit resist or a tiny heal boost to counter act defile/resist being inferior to % based mitigation.

And even then, it is just from that damage type, you can still get major defile on you from skills, just not from disease damage. You can still get burning from the burning spellweavr set. You will get the poisoned status effect from poison arrow. And so on.

he said in the video that even sets like Burning Spellweave won't apply burning status effect if the target has fire resistance

Did you have annotations on? There is a huge note as he says that that corrects what he just said. Also Gilliam has a pinned post that say this if you would scroll down.
