Shadowsilk gem

Since this is an item you can keep indefinitely, why isnt it in the polymorphs? Just askin, not complaining. Altho, the gem does take an inventory space.

Disguises have in-game mechanics and consequences that a costume or polymorph wouldn't replicate, and would cause confusion when such costume or polymorph wouldn't work in the quest that it originated for.

Disguises need to remain their own unique classification of gear.

The Shadowsilk gem is not actually a polymorph, its a disguise for a quest that like all disguises can be retained after the quest (assuming you don't lose them in combat). The shadowsilk gem certain acts more like a polymorph than most disguises do, but it works along the same lines as a disguise.

For example, when the shadowsilk gem goblin disguise was causing issues in Cyrodiil, the devs' response was to ban disguises in Cyrodiil, even disguises that looked like costumes. Actual polymorphs like the Xivkyn polymorphs, still work fine in Cyrodiil. So the shadowsilk gem golblin disguise works as a disguise in terms of game code, not as an actual polymorph.

The compromise would be to reward a polymorph version of the disguise at the end of the quest.

Let us move them to a place that's not part of our inventory

I think I have every disguise in the game would be nice if after the completion of quest you can lock them and transfer to your craft bag

A lot of the disguises are just styles right? So no need to.horde them.

The goblin one is the only one worth keeping around. Just don't die in combat with it..won't that make it disappear?

Nope. My main used it for ages. I only just took it off a few days ago because they're removing the ability to hide it's helmet. But anyway, as long as you stay away from the quest area it came from while wearing it, you can't lose it.

Nope. My main used it for ages. I only just took it off a few days ago because they're removing the ability to hide it's helmet. But anyway, as long as you stay away from the quest area it came from while wearing it, you can't lose it.

Good point. The skeleton polymorph also used to have its own inventory item called the "Gemstone of Skeletal Visage". It was even tradable. Not sure why they changed that and not Shadowsilk Gem.

An oversight I am guessing.

Sure can. And it takes an inventory slot I could use for something else. But that doesnt help answer the question as to why it's not in polymorphs. Probably an oversight that needs a nudge to make it happen.

Its not in polymorphs because its not a polymorph. Its a disguise for a quest and functions accordingly.

And that one has been asked for since... well, ever since they made the costume tab. Its quite doable as the "Scarled judge" thing shows... we are still hoping one day they might refit this to ALL disguises - keep them as object duriung the quest, remove and unlock costume/polymorph when quest is completed...
...possibly even adding costumes for those quests where there is no disguise, but a clothes change nonetheless (like that memory-maker flashback thing in greenshade during the wilderking questline... and perhaps even the slave outfit you find yourself at the very beginning in coldharbour...)
