Housing Extensions Idea

Many houses have disappointing layouts or areas of missed opportunities. For example, the Forsaken Stronghold has a massive foundation, but no basement area.

How about adding House Extensions that are basically portals to another house area you can only access from the portal.

Mechanics.

1. ) You buy a house extension the same way you would buy a house, but instead of getting a structure, you receive a piece of furniture that is a portal to the house extension.
2. ) When you access the ‘portal’ that may look like a door or a hatch or something like that, you load into a new ‘house’ area.
3. ) These areas would be completely enclosed to represent something like a basement, crypt, cave or cavern.
4. ) The house extension would then basically act like a ‘small’ home with the same features and ability.

That’s a cool idea. It reminds me of ES: Oblivion. There was a house in Anvil where a merchant was secretly a daedra worshipper or something. You kill him and the demon in the quest, then after that you could move into the now-abandoned house (it was a nice place).

In the basement you had this wall with runes you’d activate and you could open the passage to the secret chamber. ZOS could in theory offer something like this...if you buy the “torture chamber” pack or “subterranean garden” pack or “boring basement from a New England suburban house” pack you turn it on with a special collectible in any home, then have access to the expanded area.

    I like it.
