Well, when the new DLC is released, the new 'leveling system' offers a reward that includes a mount for free... not sure what level that reward becomes available though.

If you're gonna PVP, a mount is absolutely essential. Be sure to level up your mount riding speed every day (if you have crowns, you can buy mount riding lessons from the crown store as well). When you've done a bit of PVP, you will unlock the Rapid Maneuver skill in the Assault skill line; you'll want to get this ASAP. Cyrodiil is massive and you need to be able to get to other keeps quickly in order to help siege or counter-siege.

If you already have a horse you may just need to equip it for this character. I believe it can be done through collections>mounts.

I think this could be the answer as I'm 130 CP at the moment. I will check. Thanks

Level 10 but only on a new character that reaches level 10 - it's not retroactive.

You are CP 130, and don't know if you have a mount? You've played this game up until now without a mount?

To be fair, you really don't need a mount anywhere except Cyrodiil. I didn't bother to get one till I was VR10(CP100) myself, they are rather pointless overland in the beginning of the game since you are never really in any hurry. More so if you have a bow equipped and roll dodge every so often to renew major expedition.

No I have a mount. I'm not a noob or an idiot thanks. But my button doesn't call it when I logged into pvp. So like someone else pointed out i might just have to select it in my mounts. Although i don't understand why it feels deselected itself in the first place. Just didn't occur to me to check there in the short playtime i had until my wife came home. :)

A horse isn't a requirement to enter pvp BUT its kinda essential if you want to keep up and get around the battlefield. Walking between keeps just isn't viable. You can buy a horse for 10k from any stable, or shell out some crowns for a more exotic mount. As others mentioned, get training your speed and other stats up asap.

Acquiring a Horse does not mean it's selected and ready for you to ride. All items in the Collections tab are like this, you have to select it in there before you can use or wear or whatever. Actually some items, like say the Brew from the last Festival have to be used from the Collections Menu

Note, most things in the Collections window can be Hot Keyed so you can use it without opening that window

Another Note If you have not been training your Riding Skill for Speed, your going to be disappointed in riding the horse, its just slightly faster than you can sprint. It's about 30 in Speed before it feels like it has any speed. You can buy riding lessons in the crown store if your of a mind to do that.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

This, say LFG in zone chat after doing the into quest who give lots of xp and is actual useful and you get to blow up stuff with catapults :) Get the other quests especially killing other players. Then LFG to get in an group, hopefully this is an decent group but that is random like for dungeons.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

A lot of things don't work when you want them to in Cyrodiil. You'll get used to it.

Yeah when I loaded it again it worked. Just had a chat with the blades lady....It's quite a different feel in pvp. Gonna keep at it.

I have six mounts and hardly ever ride them. Got em for "free". Even the first one, I bought it with the crowns that came with the game back at launch. I'm a hoarder and have trouble passing resources without collecting them. Getting off the mount every few seconds is annoying, so I run just about everywhere.

But, yes, Cyrodiil would be a special kind of hell without a fast mount and rapids.

Where did i say that? I couldn't call my mount i.e. My keybinding stopped working, but it worked when I reloaded pvp. That's it problem solved. No drama here and I know all functions of eso. Cheers.

That's just you. I have alts parked at the mount trainer to level up mount speed, so when I actually play them, they can move from quest to quest quickly. If you have leveled to get the bow passive, you need a mount. You don't have to have one, no, but why would you want to run across the continent if you don't have to?

Technically you don't -need- a mount for PvP.
    ...
...but that's saying like you don't need an axe to chop down a tree when you can whittle it down with a pocket knife. Technically true, but... noone in their right mind goes out to fell trees with pocket knives. :p;)

And yes, you need to select your mount in your collections before its ready to use. Which does not just affect "comes when called", but also the backpack bonus!

Welcome to a whole new world. You need a mount. Any mount will do. You can then start upgrading your mount speed. You'll want to do that first, followed by Stamina. Stamina determines how long your mount can sprint and helps to keep you from being knocked off your horse. When you are out of stamina you can continue to hold sprint and it will run at top speed still but you will kind of stunned and knocked off if you take any damage. If you are able it is worth purchasing speed upgrades in the crown store. Otherwise you'll find you tend to arrive late to just about everything and can't keep up with groups. Without delay unlock rapid maneuvers.

    Good luck.

I remember my first time in Cyrodiil all to good, from the moment I've logged in I sneaked... everywhere... not mounting because maybe enemy will see me. Took to long to get anywhere, thus I logged out of Cyrodill and only returned a week later with a friend. Then we both sneaked everywhere.../<facepalm> Took way to long to get to any action. It was only after our very first keep taking battle that we joined group and started to mount as it looked way more fun to ride in group than sneak behind them.
My point is that its not that bad and dangerous as one anticipate at first, after a couple of times one get so used to Cyrodiil that you'll stand in full view between keeps and open your inventory looking for items or whatever.
You'll even learn to travel by death...

Wait a minute - this guy doesn't know how to read....just move your eyes from the top of the page to the bottom, then comprehend everything that's been said in between... then add some more ellipses just for drama...
