Mail limit size?

Hey just wondered how much mail can you have at one time?

I currently have no Eso + and after switching between characters I have a lot of mail stocking up because of hirelings. Is it possible to have thousands of mail?

What happens when the limit is overruled, does it start deleting your oldest mail?

Thanks

I think the limit is 60 incoming mails.

i'm not sure what the limit count is, but i think you'll get your mail eventually.

i went nuts last Midyear and forgot to clean out the mailbox before an entire night in Cyrodiil. it was already full when i started, so when i went to look at my stuff i was kicking myself. like my stomach sunk. i just cleared out what i could.

then i wayshrined back to the city and my box dinged and there were all of my earnings with the mail refresh.

i can't be sure if anything's changed, but that was my experience.

oh by the way, you might not be able to receive mail from fellow players with a full mailbox, but it seemed like mail sent by the servers has a backup box.

Thanks, that'd be really helpful if it did that.

I noticed the hireling mails are not expiring so I assume they last forever?

yeah, that seems to be another special perk of the mail sent by the server. i still have my "Thanks for buying DLC!" mail from October 2016.
(it still claims it will expire in 30 days, too)

Although I can't remember for sure, I thought I hit somewhere in the 70's. They were all hireling emails, tho', so I don't know if that matters...

    It's still 60.

The mail limit was originally put into the game as part of ZoS' effort to combat bot farming. This was before you could buy a merchant to follow you around. Not sure why it still exists. Probably to prevent nonsubscribers from using the mail as a huge bank.

Pretty sure it has nothing to do with subscribing or not. BOTs are more of an issue now than at PC release

Yes, but the reason it helped bots was that you couldn't sell where you farm and efficient farming required mailing your drops to another account. Add-ons were made just to facilitate the process (auto-return for a subject line of "return."

Now they can just buy the summonable vendor. If the accounts aren't getting banned, the investment would be worth it.
