I like playing around with different builds but feel like good hybrid sets and skills are lacking, so one solution would be damage conversion.
Let's say you want to play a Bow wielding Magicka sorcerer. The problem with this setup is that stat's and pools are divided, so you can never be really good at either. Your bow will use weapon damage and weapon crit and stamina, and your spells will use spell damage and spell crit, magicka. One way to make hybrid a bit more viable would be to be able to convert damage types.
To convert damage you could use either a skill, or a maybe some set bonus.
Physical damage could be converted to either, flame, shock, ice or magic, and use the spell crit and spell damage, scales of magicka instead but still use the main stamina pool for activation cost.
Magic and elemental damage could be converted to Physical/bleed, Poison, Disease, and use weapon damage, and weapon crit, scales off stamina but use magicka as the main pool for activation cost.
Some examples:
With the appropriate set or conversion skill:
For DK DW hybrid.
Skills like twin slashes, all your outgoing damage could be converted to fire and burning instead of physical and bleed.
For A Hybrid Necromancer type staff wielder.
Skills like Elemental blockade could be converted to deal Physical/Bleed, disease or poison damage.
Imagine having a Staff skills causing disease damage, 2hander doing shock damage, Axes skills doing burn damage and so on.. You would not be forced to limit yourself to either stamina or magicka abilities as they could be converted.
Conversion of damage would open up so many more possibilities without having to sacrifice that much damage output with from lower stat pools, and champion points spread across too many trees. You could focus on a certain type of damage no matter if you wanted to play with staff, swords, or whatever.
Any takers? Or other ideas.?
