Did not find Nirnhoned and Nirncrux picking nodes in Craglorn.

Is this still a thing or was it removed from the game? Five hours of node picking last night and never once got a drop.

I still get them. I don't know if the drop rate was reduced or not but I seem to get them less often than I used to.

Just bad rng is all . Some days I’ll get four in five minutes and others I’ll farm for hours and get zero.

Exactly as he said. I farmed for hours one week and got nothing. Last week I happened to be waiting for a trial group to pick up some members and in half an hour I got 2 potent Nirn and 3 fortified Nirn.

Unless they have made changes to the drop rates since before the big nirnhoned nerf, with confidence I can say that the drop rate has a cool down. I use to farm potent/fortified nirncrux to sell back when people were all over Upper Craglorn node stealing like crazy, and easily spent a couple hundred hours in Upper Craglorn doing so. Back when I did this, you would only get up to 4-5 nirncrux within a reasonable time frame, and then you could go hours (6+) without getting a single one. Prior to you farming for these, when was the last time you found one in a node? My advice would be to stop farming once you have gotten 3-5 and they just appear to stop dropping. Wait 24 hours, and go back to farming.

Last time I was there, the number of nodes available to be picked was down. That is going to make it longer between nirncrux drops.

Nirncrux does not have a cooldown. There is just a very small chance per node to receive a piece of nirncrux, and then a 10% chance to double it with the Plentiful Harvest passive.

The drop rate is 1 in 200, with 1 in 4 of those being potent nirncrux. That's doubled from the previous rate before One Tamriel, which was 1 in 400.

Nirncrux of both types can be found anywhere in Craglorn, from blacksmithing, clothing, and woodworking nodes, including creatures that drop leather. I've gotten nirncrux from welwas, daggerback pigs, and dunerippers. It is possible to get a potent and a fortified from the same node. Nirncrux can also be doubled by the Plentiful Harvest CP passive in the Lover Tree.

I regularly get nirncrux on a single farming loop around Craglorn on PC/NA at a rate in line with the stated drop rate. Obviously, the more nodes I pick and the less crowded the zone, the more likely I am to get nirncrux.

You can have one for the cost of 8 - 20 flowers. I’d go that route.

Edit: of course I’m talking fortified, not potent.

I've received it from one of the minotaur mobs in vet Falkreath because the dungeon is actually located in Craglorn. So I can confirm it drops from some enemies too.

It does feel like a rarity lately. I totally gave up getting them when I need for research. The potent ones at least. The fortified by comparison seem to drop a lot more often and it's dirty cheap now so no point in farming it either.

3 times fortified out of 4 nirncrux seems too low. I don't remember the last time I found a potent one.
