Question about Leveling up Alliance Assault & Support Skill Lines

Hey there,
I am a newish player to ESO. I started playing awhile ago around the time of the Orsinium DLC dropped. I main a tank and was playing with friends, but they dropped off, and I ended up not playing anymore myself. Long story short, I am back from a nearly year long hiatus and much has changed and I am trying to figure it all out.
War Horn is a must have for tanks now and I want/need it ASAP. I have been going into the AVA zones and am currently Level 3, 3/4 of the way to 4 in my alliance skill line (4 is needed for the War Horn Ult). The issue I have is my guild isn't incredibly active in PvP content, and it can be tough to find groups at times.
It feels like the quests don't award Alliance Assault/Support Skill increases, just AP and EXP. I struggle to kill players right now, as I am a PvE tank and don't necessarily have the right set up for PvP. I know capturing the small camps, mines, and farms give you a small amount of Alliance Skill exp, and this has been my main source of Alliance Skill exp, but I turn to you, Warriors of Tamriel.
Is there anything I am missing? Is there another way to get Alliance Assault/Support Skill EXP outside of killing other players and capturing zones? I know this is supposed to be a grind, and I am not looking for a short cut. I just want to make sure I am doing everything I possibly can to level up my Assault/Support Skill lines as quickly as possible.
