SOVLED: ESO Launcher Stopped Working After Fall Creators Update

Hello,

Windows pushed the Fall Creators update to my desktop last night. Every since then I have not been able to get the ESO Launcher to work. It just stays stuck with the "Loading..." message.

I can launch eso64.exe and play the game fine. I just cannot get the launcher to work. I re-installed the launcher but that did not help.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am at a loss of what to try next. Google searches mostly led me to either Steam issues or threads with no resolution.

UPDATE - SOLVED:

Ok, I finally stumbled on this support article: https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/30595/

I followed those steps and I am back and working. Too bad Google did not find that page for me. But, I am posting the resolution here in case someone else runs into this and finds this thread.

Can anyone help me here?

I tried reinstalling the Microsoft Visual C++ distributions that come with the launcher but I got errors on both saying I had a newer version installed.

I am stuck on this screen and it never progresses:



I can get around it for now by launching eso64.exe, but worry that I won't be able to get the next patch.

EDIT: I just noticed a file called host.developer.log which has the following contents. There seems to be a few errors there, but I am not sure how to rectify them.
