Stamina DPS Warden - Does Race Really Matter?

Hi all,

I am thinking about making a Stamina Warden but I am unsure about whether to play as an Imperial or a Redguard. I like the extra bit of health the Imperial gets but the benefits from the Redguard are tempting. Roleplay also plays a factor too as I do not really like the aesthetics of Redguards. Anyways, does a Stamina Warden have a good enough sustain that a Redguard has little difference? And this is focused solely on a DPS build.

I have no idea how good a Warden is, my main is a Wood Elf Stamina Nightblade and I enjoy him but I want to try the new class out.

Thanks,
-Yzalirk

The netch gives you nice sustain, so go with imperial if you prefer them

Mine is Orc. Big. Fat. Bald. Wears a pretty pink dress. And loves to gloat over the carcass of his fallen victims/teammates. He’s also very fast. Especially for a big guy in a dress wearing sandals. Looking forward to eso introducing high heels.

Yes , it does matter . Redguard is BiS on any class as a Stamina DPS . There will be fights that will make you curse the day you chose race if you don't go with Redguard . This is from experience , go with Redguard . Every top Stamina DD player will say the same thing . You can go with 7 Medium if you are Imperial , which will give you similar sustain to Redguard but still lower .

I never bother with racial minmaxing. All my characters are khajiit, because looking sleek is the best racial perk out there.

Redgaurd is the best Stamina PVE DPS race, period. Does it matter to you? Well that depends. If you are just messing around in group dungeons and couldnt care less about trial leaderboards, choose any race you want. It really wont matter. Wardens are better than average with sustain. Where this totally flies out the window is in 6-10 minute trial fights, PVP, and maybe VMA. In all those situations, you are at a noticeable disadvantage with any race that isnt redguard.

Bosmer's best if you're trying for bow/bow but that's probably not the best choice lol. Imperial's healing passive is terrible but the max health is nice if you're trying to avoid getting on hit by some mechanics.

infused poison/disease enchant (could work with others) works better with redguard

Alright, I have decided to go with a Redguard and I made him look pretty cool. Gonna try to work leveling both a Warden and Templar.

Any fast and efficient ways to power level?

Strictly speaking in terms of damage, redguard edges all but orc, unless you deal more than 50% of your damage from non-melee abilities. Redguard is a close second to orc, except when non-melee abilities exceed 50% of your damage. Khajiit is the 3rd best, with the biggest benefits seen on a Templar or nightblade, with high minor and major force uptimes, putting them even with redguard and orc, and higher if your RNG is blessed.

Again I'm referring to pure damage, not sustain. Redguard is the clear winner all things considered xD. Khajiit has the highest potential with lucky crits.

redguard with infiused enchant on front bar and nirn back bar with poisons is > bosmer due to adreniline rush procing on enchant every 5 sec and the max stam, but they are very close

My stam DK is imperial, my stamplar is an orc and my stamsorc is a cat.

Have I outparsed a lot of redguards with all of them? Yep.

Honestly the big advantage of imperial that many people are overlooking is the added 12% health. Seriously, you can use throne on an imperial and still have 17k health while having the same stamina recovery bonus and value as a redguards. The loss of 1k stamina isn't a big deal, especially stam dks and stamsorcs get the most out of weapon damage anyway.

I have completed all trials on a competitive level with non-ideal races (even though we stopped doing all older trials..) , so the answer is clear:

All of those races work, health bonuses help a lot as well, in my opinion often more than a bit of extra stamina, especially when you're learning newer trials.

TL:DR, pick whatever you want and build according to it.
