Applying patch fails 1/22/18 workaround

I launched the game and it tried to download and apply the patch. The download completed successfully, but the patch locked at about 7% for me. I was prompted to repair, but the message said one or more processes are in use. Relaunching the launcher did not resolve the issue and it again locked up at 7%. So i closed the launcher again and double checked a couple things.
Solution/workaround:
I have both TTC and minion running pretty much constantly. Normally this doesn't interfere with the patching process. This time closing both allowed the downloaded patch to apply successfully. I was then able to close the game and relaunch both then log into the game as normal. Something about one or both of these processes is preventing the patch from applying for whatever reason. If you are running these close them both and then do your patch. This should resolve this particular issue.
