Character Height Reference During Design

Could we get some type of reference in the character design screen for height? I'm not sure why this isn't in there. I have no reference point to other characters as to the height. We just get a slider for shorter and taller. I hate estimating and then finishing, only to find I don't like the height in reference to other characters in the game. Why do we have this obscure slider and no reference? @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

There is a chart on google show highest and lowest of all races though. You can use it while waiting.

Don't even get me started on this - it's OK for me now, because I am kind of used to the character creator and height sliders for the different races, but at first it was a complete nightmare trying to judge how tall/short my character would be. I do think some sort of reference point (maybe a toggleable police arrest mugshot style height scale on the background starting at smallest possible character and going up to tallest possible) would be helpful - so you can toggle it and see whether your height setting is short-arse or titan...

No I think they all have the same hitbox, it's just cosmetic

Ha. I've seen people make the shortest Bosmer possible. They look like children.

Watch out for Nords and Altmers. If you make them as tall as possible, they are giants.

I realized one day that IRL I'm taller in comparison to a 5'3" girl than Lyris Titanborn is in comparison to the smallest possible bosmer.

Now I want to put antlers on all the wee ladies I see that are elf-y looking.

I'm not sure, honestly. I know that your height affects how far you can go in water before you'll start swimming. Taller characters can wade out farther, while shorter ones will stow their weapons and start swimming sooner.

It also affects horses. Bosmer get ponies while Nords get proper mounts. The tiny ponies have to be dismounted earlier than the proper mounts.

My third toon is a bosmer NB and while I didn't make her as short as possible, she is pretty short even for a bosmer, and I remember doing the Wailing Prison with her ages ago and feeling extremely drawfed by Lyris.

I also made my male Argonian as short as possible and it annoys me that Bosmer males can be a tad shorter than he is.

it also doesn't help that the first character you spend any significant amount of time around is a freakin' half-giantess. I found that soooo distracting when I built my first character. I thought the slider had been totally bugged and I created some super mini-wierdo character - had to actually chase down other pc's and stand next to them to make sure that "I" was the right size and my npc companion was the one that was abbeynormal.

No fooling. I had no idea way back when, early in the game, when I made my Altmer Sorc. She's my Clothier and at the Vulkhel Gard crafting dais she has a sea of people who come up to her ribs. I wanted a tall person, not a giant.

A marker on the character creation height slider bar for average NPC height would be phenomenal. It would be at a different position for each race/gender, and would need a tooltip stating "average NPC height." Then we could make informed choices on height -- sure we couldn't control if every other player elected to be shorter or taller than us, but we could at least match the world to the level we wish.

I agree with this, I made my main Khajit NB a midget even though I wanted him to a be an average height. After that I accidentally made my Altmer Sorc a giant when I simply wanted her to be a bit taller than average. Although I really don't know how they would implement such a thing.

I was thinking the same thing someone else in this thread was thinking...some type of height chart in the background like getting a mug shot. Or even if they didn't want to use actual height numbers...colored lines like in the picture online.

ZOS: stop with the silders (alone) and provide numerical values as well. Also give us an interface to generate a character strictly by entering a known numerical value sequence.

    That is all.

Well, I do notice that my char seems to vary in size compared to specific NPCs. Sometimes my prefered banker or merchant seem smaller then my char other times they are irritating tall. Might be a purely visual glitch tho, and it doesn't happen often (its just irritating, so i do notice).

Point is, maybe size is relative in tamriel. :)

The slider for female High Elves is insane. You have to make them the minimum height so they look normal, or else they look like skinny giants.

It would be a reylly nifty thing if the chargen had a toggle-able height pole to see how tall your character will be with what settings. I mean, we don't really need exact numbers, but seeing if your bosmer will be closer to four feet then five, or when your nord might reach the six-and-a-half foot mark... that would make things a lot easier and more fun.

That's why my main, which I definitely spend more than 90% of my ingame time with, looks like a giant. I still can't stand that (haha). Trying to look more like a "normal" high elf next to lyris made me delete several chars and maximize the slider. I really hated when I found out about her being titanborn and definitely the wrong person to compare height with.
Why can't we adjust characteristics and pay for the number of them touched instead of paying one huge amount of crowns for a tiny thing we wanna change?
I think about these things really often and I hate how we don't have any realistic for solution that
