Finding Daggerfall Covenant motif if not in that alliance?

I am in the Aldmeri Dominion (but Breton) and got a master writ to make a staff in the Daggerfall Covenant style.
Is there any way I can find this style or is my only option to buy it due to my alliance?

If you don't let the Lion Guard know ... then it's neither here nor there.

You can find DC motif pages in the guild stores in-game or the full book in the crown store.

Another option is to roll a DC toon and never look back ...

Chests in Cyrodiil and IC will only drop your alliance style pages. So you'll need to get those from other players. Also PvP sets that drop in alliance styles will follow the same rule. In case of RftW the style is determined by which character opens the mail.

I thought so. Thanks. I may just sell the master writ this time around as one writ is not likely worth me spending 5000 crowns for the book, unless I can find a page for what I need. I will take a look.

You can farm your own alliance motif chapters, put that for sale on guild stores and buy the chapters you need from players in other alliances. It will be worth learning motifs on your crafting character, since next patch will be coming with an outfit system that basically lets you make "masks" for every weapon armor piece, based on known motifs for that slot.

For alliance motif seekers who wander onto this page, I’ll also note that during the birthday event in April they have these birthday boxes for any daily quest completion. Last year these rewarded motifs generously...like half the boxes, and most motifs were included in the reward tables. You were able to earn cross-alliance motif pages during that event.

i suggest you keep the writ and learn the motif page,alliance motif pages are cheap at guild stores
and from my experience they drop very frequently as master writs

Thank you. I just didn't want to spend 5000 crowns at this time for the book, so ended up buying the motif page. As stated kindly above, I will likely need them in the future anyway and it was under 10k (just).
I will also be looking out for such events that let you gain them.
