Inmortal tanks in pvp and

Yesterday was the first day I was surprised, I saw people tanking and impossible to kill but not like this, This guy was a templar and 3 of us were hitting him while his hp bar was absolutely not moving.

Not only that he was holding his shield up absorbing the incoming damage and then swapping weapons and jumping in someone of us using javalines to kill us in matters of seconds.

I don't know if he was magicka or stamina but I want to learn this stupid build, anyone knows about inmortal and killer machine templars builds in pvp?

If he was using Backlash, you killed yourselves by trying to damage him so much.

There are different possibilities. He could have used a damage shield, he could have healed himself faster than you damaged him. He could have used heavy armor and block. Or maybe he had evasion applied and dogded your damage.
You would need to give a little more info. Currently you're only saying a templar killed you and you weren't able to damage him.

Those kind of topics are coming up almost every week. Yet, players can’t accept that their perception of immortal is tied to their skill as players themselves. There simply are no immortal tank builds. None.

Some tanks can take 3 players at once, others 6 or 9. Depending on the skill of their enemies. But, the higher the number, the more likely it is, that the tank will sooner or later fall. Unless of course their opponents are all light attackers who don’t know what CC, LoS or windows of defense and offense are.

You don’t have to attack them you know. Chances are they can’t do *** for damage. Always leave tanks for last...

I admit I am no good in PvP at all and certainly don't understand the builds.

I was in IC 2 days ago in a group of 6. I was the bad player. We had 2 former emperors in our group, 1 which was named Curt. I have no idea who the other was. We are EP.

We found a Blue Templar who charged our group. We fought for a solid minute and unloaded every burst ability we had. I threw every stun I had and tried to heal.

His health bar never dropped a fraction nor was he ever stunned or knocked down after multiple attempts from all of us. He wiped the entire group.

I understand that some people are just better at PvP but that was absolutely ridiculous. I am not whining or complaining just stating a fact about what happened. At SOME point his health should have dropped a little and it never did. At some point he should have been stunned or knocked down and he wasn't.

This is why I will only PvP until I get warhorn/caltrops and not go back.

Having 5 people who focus on PvP and who have PvP gear and who wiped the map with all the other yellow/blue players we found get destroyed by a single player just leaves a bad taste in my mouth for PvP in general and how unbalanced it can be.

I will clarify some things I've been reading.

My team was not the best it was very low, but anyway his way to take so much damage for a long period of time and then swap weapons, charge and kill fast was very intimidating.

I don't know if he was stamina or magicka I forgot after to see it.

I just don't know what is meta in BGs for templars with sword&shield if stamina or magicka, maybe someone with more experience on it can help us.

If they are 5k over the resistance cap they are likely negating any penetration you might have and getting the full 50% reduction. If they are using wizard's riposte your damage is going to be 15% less. If they are high CP they have reductions to direct damage and magical/physical damage. If they are blocking and have the enchants and/or stamina to hold block they have more damage reduction. If they drink a health regen pot and you don't have defile on them they are getting healed for the full amount.

If they are just sitting there holding block and aren't light attacking you at all they can't be building ult while you are. If they are waiting on a proc set either from an outgoing dot or incoming damage you don't really have to wail on them beside the light attack to build your ult.

I've seen players in cyrodiil wielding a 2h weapon and not blocking who are very difficult to kill and can take on 5+ people at once. Defile helps. Bursting them into execute territory helps.

Yeah tanks are annoying. Ive seen plenty of dragonkinght tanks, laugh over over 10 opponents all while eating seige.

On my templar i have over 5k spell damage 25k dps ,on test dummies, and my attacks were just tickling these players.

How can you understand a build when you are new and don't really understand PvP? If you can't even tell the player is magicka or stamina that says a lot. There are no godbuilds everyone dies. Plz change your title if you enjoy PvP and want to grow in it. Rather ask for counter play to skills you have noted or simply in your case which should I play for PvP stamplar or magplar, and can I please get help with my build. I think that will give you more what you are looking for, good luck :)

If the players you were with doesn't matter if they were "former Emps" or even the emperor himself
are lowbies in PVP combat , and don't have proper CP distribution and Gear WILL NEVER TAKE someone who knows how to make Optimal builds in matter of Tankiness/DPS .
And also there is one thing called "Lingering Health Potions"
On my Werewolf builds I have killed Emperors in 1v1 situations #Defile #CostPoisons (which aperantly neither of you guys were using against this Templar)

Here is an example of the Lingering Health Pots capabilities in 1vX scenario

Hard to know what you have going on there. Folks cheating in PVP is utterly common and they are very tanky and turn around and wreck groups. Groups of players with low knowledge / skill / CP / or decent gear getting wrecked by a skilled player with a good 1 v x build not cheating is also common. It is also hard to know from what little info you have provided exactly what build such a player might have been using. I will note that the use of a bunch of shields by cheat engine users (I have never seen somebody I believe to be using CE do this) is not common as there are much more efficient ways to stack damage mitigation using CE that also do not require a bunch of casts by the player. I suspect the guy who wrecked you was legit.

My advice is to look a the variety of good builds that folks like Alcast and Deltia put something together that matches what you want to do in game. You also may need to grind some CP as you really should get to 500 or so before you expect to have much success. As for magica templars (shields would indicate this) being immortal killing machines.... Honestly, I have always got wrecked by mSorcs and have the most issues with stam wardens these days. Magica templars don't have much ground speed for LOS, have very expensive skills that make it difficult for them to sustain longer fights, and lack the solo delayed damage burst skills like curse, wrath, or bugs necessary to make the fight shorter (and that usually spell doom to my less than super tanky but good sustain build).
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

This got into an duel with as an pve templar healer, spc / seducer, having shield and obviously high heal but only sweeps and wall of lightning as damage, he was bad, any decent PvP player would burned me,
This one is an proud zergling staying in the back and heal and support the fighters. Or rather sneak and res group inside enemy keep after the idiot enemy zerg has passed on :)

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I was about to comment on whether it worked on self heal about 5 seconds after you edited post. It doesn't make much sense for it to work on blocking. Does it work on dodge roll and taking damage while having a damage shield up?

Semi true. Not hurting anyone without them throwing their stupid at you is what I would call a weakness though.

The mega tank builds are sort of useless unless A.) Someone bashes on them enough without tactics to seppuku (i.e. fighting the old blazeplar builds) or B.) They are the support tank builds in small groups. I.e. eclipse, backlash, Jbeam and soul assault for all the perks of damaging the enemy, without having to spec much into it.
