Guilds that have only 1 Member and are inactive for 2+ Years should be Deleted to create Space..

I dont see any reason why Guildnames that have been kept for years and only have 1 Member in it which hasn't logged in for years should stay. It only takes space and there is no need for it.

The same idea has been pitched for reserved player names. It's not popular.

Just get clever with your guild name.

Soooooo, how do you know, a specific guild exists, that only has one member which also inactive? Do you know that player? How did you learn about the guild?
Aren't you not just frustrated because you can't name a new guild, because that name is already taken?

@reguvin, I regret to inform you, that Goku's Flying Badger Festival is an active guild, so even if your plan went through, that name would never be yours. :p

I'm confused. Are we actually talking about names - what does the OP mean by "taking space"?

The OP went to create a guild. Turns out, the name they wanted was already in use. Since the OP hasn't seen it, they figure it must be defunct.

Running out of generic names for your monopoly, are you?

Anyway, what data do you have to back up the claim these guilds with these “certain” names only have one member?

Any player has the right to hold a guild name for future use, even if he's the only guild member :)
I have friends who invited others to their guilds months after they originally created the guild, they also taken breaks from ESO and still reserved the guild names.
It is similar to character names/USER_ID.
As long as the guild name is per TOS and naming standards, the player may hold it.

You can be surprised what names are still available for use.
I searched for an available guild name not long ago and I was very surprised it was still available B)
Some videos I recorded for fun: Main character:
PC EU main: Universe - AD magicka Sorcerer, Former Emperor, Grand Overlord, The Merciless, Trial Bosses Solo Champion
Top alts: Genius(stamina/sagicka Dragonknight) The Force(stamina Nightblade) and other chars.
PC NA main: The Magic - AD magicka Sorcerer
Started playing ESO in beta & early access
    User_ID: Daedric_Prince

But it isn't fair to take something from someone in a first come first serve environment, just because you want it. What if the person losing their one man guild are over seas fighting right now? What if a spous is no longer with us and the significant other logs in just to feel like they are around? The entitlement of some people. If something isn't available, in any aspect of life, move on or wait, don't start acting like you deserve it over others because they don't use it as much as you.

Long ago someone in zone chat wanted help naming a guild that would have the acronym F.A.N.G. I suggested Five Angry Nude Gnomes but he didn't go with that one. Yours to use if you want it as far as I know.

Or you could just get your merry band of boot lickers to hound the GM's of those 1 man guilds to sell up, then kick that one remaining member. That's what usually happens.

Yeah there seems to be a lot of hyperbole and outright assumptions here on the forums in order to back up one's latest grievance.

Thanks. I got that from the original post, but couldn't see the relevance of the comment in the title and original post to it "taking space".
