Eso, now with more lag than ever

What is wrong with the game/servers right now? I'm in Sanguine's with hardly any other people around and it's lagging more than it does sometimes in big Cyrodiil fights. I hope tonights patch is fixing something that's causing this because I don't know how much more patience the people I play with, or myself for that matter, have left. It's so bad I accidentally sat down on a bench trying to pick up loot and now I can't get up, even "get me unstuck" didn't unglue my butt from the seat. Cyrodiil has been f'***'d up forever it seems like but at least I could always retreat to PvE land when it got to be too much, but now those areas are lagging horribly as well, leaving the entirety of the game pretty much unplayable.

Ah quit being such a drama queen.

Now they certainly could stand to look at the servers as a whole and why they perform the way they do and react the way they do, but if you look at the devs you’ll see they do indeed care about this game.

Servers have been *** from the start. It will never change because they don't care unfortunately!

I was always playing on ultra-high (except Cyro ofc), but recently I needed to change it to high, because of lag. Fix it ples.

As for the "they don't care" I think they've proven at this point they do, they just don't have a simple fix for it yet. They can upgrade their servers all they like but it's still not going to solve the issue of too many demands being made on the server.

If there was a silver bullet for this I am pretty sure ZOS would have done it long ago as to not get the reputation they now have.

Yeah but since day one there was something wrong and since day one we get: "we are aware of the current bla bla bla in cyrodiil and we are investigating the bla bla bla and it will be fixed in future update bla bla bla..."

One can not spend the entire lifespan of the game "investigation and fixing" but never actually do fix it. Somewhere a long the line they will have to tell the truth.

Either say that you can not fix or fix, but "looking into it" ain't no answer no more!!

Mega“server and overload,

its bn clear for a wile now that the servers cant handle the prime-times so yes over-loaded.

you cant even use skills in cyro when its prime-time, but when you are there in the middle of the night everything is fine.. clear indication that the player amount is the cause.. they cant handle the pressure


now there is a way to fix that ez... its getting better up to date servers... cost a lot of money tho... they wanna make money not spend it i guesss... also net-code cld be a thing... but then it wld be crap all the time, now after a Maintenance the game game feels butter smooth and is a bliss to play for 1 day or so, then the memory starts building up again, and the servers get slowly over-loaded again.. lag and bad fps is the result. sry rip my english..

I live less than 2 hours from the NA server, average 160 to 200ms on a fiber connection. All other sites/games, easy 40 to 60ms. I can explain that too.

The data center they use in Dallas is *** and has a documented history of bad network configuration, and the DDoS protection they use adds 100ms because it has to roundtrip to and from Maryland.

So there is verifiable lag.

People will experience lag unless they've got a decent router, internet service provider and connection.

Unfortunately, once the brainless EP zergs crawl out of the woodwork even the best broadband set-up in the world can't cope with the resulting lag-fest they cause that infects Vivec, Cyrodiil (EU PC/Mac) during prime time.

I don't see any game-breaking lag, occasional latency spike, but it's nowhere near starting any thread or moaning at the top of your voice. And Cyrodiil has been improved so much. PC EU.

Find a way to lag the crown store and they will surely start to worry about lag.

This game is by far the worst for lag, out of any game I've played online, over the years.

I think they allow too many people per one shard and thus, creating an environment similar to what it is in Cyro when population is high.

I wish they would reduce the sizes by half and then we would bein much better position.

Then again, it might be a conspiracy to prepare announcement of bandwidth tokens in crown store, just few thousand crowns and you get a lag free day! Winwin.

Maybe ZoS should try taking some of the profit they're making on the crown store/crates, and upgrade their servers.

It always amazes me how so many people can experience issues, and voice them both on their platform of choice and forums alike. Yet, a few folks out of blue will come along and say, “I’m not experiencing anything wrong at all. In fact, the game is in the best shape it’s ever been in. Things have improved incredibly!”

How does someone come about saying such things, when at 1 point the game was capable of handling things like 200 Vs. 200 zerg battles. And mind you, this is with little to no lag while this all was occurring. As well as little to no frame drops. There’s documented proof of this on YouTube, by the way. But now? If there’s even a 50 Vs. 50 battle at a keep or outpost, you’ll have skills being used in a delayed manner (if they are registered at all). As well as people teleporting around, with textures not rendering properly.

So please. Tell me how you can type something like that, and actually be taken seriously? How? And it’s not even just PvP, by the way. Performance got so bad, that people were getting load screens by merely stepping a few feet in a town. No bs. Forget going in and out of buildings. Entire zones at 1 point became inaccessible on certain platforms (XB1 people couldn’t access Wrothgar for how long? And us on PS4 had major issues with Grahtwood for months). Dungeons and trials? Forget about some of them. Especially trials actually. VMoL and VMA was (and possibly still is) a nightmare from the amount of lag as well as performance issues. So how? How can a person really say that the game is doing so incredible, and getting better? If anything, I’d say it’s been getting worse.
