MagSorc - Needing help with Blue CP points

as of right now i am cp246. the question i have is, how do i distribute my blue points? i have 37 in thaumaturge, 35 elemental expert, 10 spell erosion. I dont feel like i am doing enough damage when farming xp. i watch some of these people farm xp (lower then me) and they are pretty much one shotting everything.

attributes: 64 magicka
my xp farm setup: 7x training juli set.
my dungeon farm setup: 5x juli, 2x ilambris devine.

front bar: degeneration, crystal frags, force pulse, inner light, bound ageis
back bar: liquid light, elemental blockade, endless fury, bound ageis, harden warden

any help is much appreciated!

No reason for entropy (degeneration) on a mag sorc, use power surge. It is better in every way.

First, drop bound armor and use the scamp, that is an extra 3-5k dps.

Then drop endless and put deadric prey.


Then drop hardened for most content, power surge will heal you more then enough.

Force pulse is Garbo and hard to sustain, heavys will give you better DPS.

There is more you can do but those are all I see right now.

ill give that a try. and would you switch the blues around? any blue i get im putting it in thaumaturge

So as a sorc, most of your damage is a dot, so it is good you are doing that, lumping thaumaturge.

Having a good rotation is more important then cp. You need to getting good at that, managing buff and such before really worring about your cp too much..

my bars are

lighting(infused fire enchant)

inner light, volatile familiar, crystal frags, daedric prey, shock clench, ulti- fire meteor

nirn fire staff

inner light, volatile familiar, power surge, liquid lightning, fire wall, ulti- overload

i have dark exchange on my third bar, for when I need the extra magic, which is not much cuase I use heavys almost every 10 seconds. I also is illambris, so that is why I have a fire back bar. If you want you could use double lighting.


So basically the rotation is power surge-fire wall, liquid lightning-swap- familiar- deadric pray- clench- heavy till fire wall runs out. Light attack in between each skill use frags when they proc. Use meteor or the destro ulti when you can. This rotation gets me around 30k self buffed. Is easy and magic efficient.

His "3rd bar" is when he activates the overload ultimate. If you activate overload and go into your skill menu you can assign another whole bar of skills as long as they're not weapon skills because you technically don't have a weapon equipped (overload is your light/heavy attacks). PC/PS/XB all have this option.

And yes, his "fire wall" comment is in relation to wall of elements, of which elemental blockade is the morph.

Your CP looks fine, consider you're still pretty low. For your front bar tho, switch degeneration to Haunting Curse. I wouldn't be too overly concerned about your dps until ya have more CP.

i ended up putting 75 in thaumaturge and 7 in elemental expert. not sure if thats too much thaumaturge at 248 or what.but any blues i get im putting in elemental expert. lol I've got the rotation down pretty well as i have been sitting at the dummy for the last 3 hours.
