Light & Heavy attacks

laracroft4sakn
I feel like adding a bit of versatility to this would go a long way. What that would look like is up for debate. And, I am sure there are more options/ideas. But I wanted to ask the question to see if the community at large agrees or is definitely against such things. You could go the functionality route which could have levels etc.. Or just the aesthetic. But, when I played skyrim one of the main things that I noticed as an improvement over other ES games is the cinematic attacks. To me it can add A LOT more fun in what might be considered the mundane of the game.

Having a bunch of different animations it can have, so it isn't just the same thing. (maybe even get the opportunity to choose/earn light attack animations?)

Having differing versions that actually effect combat. Not unlike stances or styles?

You don't have an other or don't care option... *Waits for people to *** at the OP about it.*
    Hoping for more playable races

I am just curious as the thread has very little interest it seems. Should I assume the community at large isn't that excited about such things? Am I alone in thinking this would be an awesome update to make adventuring so much more fun?

Different combat animations are really only needed if the placement of the attack affects the damage done.

And I know you're quite late to the launch party, but this isn't Skyrim Online. Many features available in a robust single player game just can't be replicated in a multiplayer game that has far lower minimum requirements.

You mean enemies that cancel your animations? I don't think i've ever had a light attack animation canceled before..

Fair enough, but what about just different quick animations for light attack? Slight differences mean a lot when I watch it for many many hours..If when i did a frost attack maybe he pulls the frost with left hand out of the staff and shoots it (all quickly of course) but like I said small differences like that could mean the world after hours of repetition. Especially if you could earn/learn new ones throughout..

As a post script I would like to add the fact that they have cinematic kills for the blade of woe.. SOOOO there is the potential there ...

no, i don't want anything like this.
i want to see immediate FAST Swift HIT when i press the buttons, not some stupid action movie performance trying to highlight and make it look weird and dream like. no, i want like it is in morrowind single player game and also like it is in real life.
when i attack it needs be really fast and if you blink you missed it.

Not before removing possibility of animation cancel. But it will require completely new balance. Too hard job for ZOS at this moment. No ETA.

I like the idea... One thing I was initially hoping for when launch occurred was a directional attack system similar to Skyrim and previous Scrolls game.

move to the left and perform a side cut, push forward while attacking and a over the head power swing. Pull back while striking and dodge stab.

Anyways, I'm with you, make combat more involved and dynamic. Not spells and skills, just regular attack combat.

Hell, Black Desert Online Warrior is probably the best executed combat for a melee class I've ever seen in an MMO... Too bad the game is an Eastern Port, those are always terribad.

The second quote of your last post is not from me, you may want to fix that :)

In my experience, you never ever see a light attack animation in pvp, as it is hidden within ability-, dodge or bar swap animations.
