Mages Guild Exp Book

Hey all, I just grinded the mages guild on a toon that needs to level. I did this because I remember receiving a book that gives you 150% exp for 2 hours, yet all I got was 2 skill points.
I sent Valaste to the Shivering Isles which is the choice that used to grant you the book.

Yes, I do heartily repent. I repent I had not done more mischief; and that we did not cut the throats of them that took us, and I am extremely sorry that you aren't hanged as well as we.

    Maybe you're mistaken it with the Clockwork City main quest!? That one rewards you with the exp codex.

    Could be, but I feel just 2 weeks ago I finished MG on another toon and got one. I accidentally consumed it so it's impossible to tell at this point
