Worth it to return?

I haven't played this game since before the Orc what ever DLC, which I believe was the first DLC. I dabbled a little with PVP a year or two ago when they had a lobby just for people below level 50 with Veteran/Champion points removed. I'm curious what the stat of the game is like currently. I was about the buy all the DLC's when they were on sale and miss judged when the sale would end. But it still peaked my curiosity to come back.

With Destiny 2 being a bit of a let down I'm looking for something else that would be fun. I'm kind of on the fence for a few games on PS4 and just wondering what everyone's opinion is. I'm thinking maybe ESO, Warframe, The Division, or Neverwinter.

No offense, but I dislike these type threads. I don't know you or your likes and dislikes so I can't really give you any sound direction except that since you already own the game it doesn't cost you anything to log back in and take a look around for yourself. Best of luck!

Definitely a great time to return my friend the game is shaping up rather nicely tons of new content and with update 17 coming in February its only going to get better ;),at least out of all those games you mentioned(which i have played also) ESO is by far better.

    ...are Bretons then mongrels,or paragons?
    The answer,of course,is both(though if you call a Breton
a mongrel,he is liable to feed you an inch or two of steel).
The passionate race of Bretons embodies the strengths
of both men and mer-as well as there flaws.

I have no idea what you like or dislike so I will say try them all and then decide. Or maybe watch people playing the games and decide if it peaks your interest enough to buy.

Here are some quick bullet points based on MY experience with the game.

      Pros:
      • It's a really beautiful game, with some great graphics.
      • Has a vibrant community where people are mostly mature and willing to help you.
      • The quests are mostly well-written, and there is the potential to do a lot of different side quests.
      • Combat is fun, and more interesting than most MMOs, even if at times it's a bit clunky.
      • Lots of different types of guilds you can find a home in.

      Cons:
      • If you want the BASE content of the game to be challenging though you'll be disappointed as most of the DLCs and Overland are a snooze fest (you will rarely, if ever die).
      • Dungeon queues can be quite long if queuing as a DPS.
      • Crazy expensive houses.
      • Almost mandatory ESO Plus, you will need the crafting bag if you want to craft, as the game doesn't give you enough inventory slots to deal with all the crafting items.
      • Bots are literally everywhere.

Being someone that's played both Neverwinter and ESO, I much prefer ESO over Neverwinter. I would say give it another shot since you already have the game. There has been so many improvements since Orsinium (the orc one) came out.

      Cheers and good luck.

CPs have been disabled in the noob campaign well after the Orsinium patch. It is slightly better now, if largely because said patch reached rock bottom with CPs + item scaling combo and things could not go much worse from there. However, item scaling alone leaves the noob campaign vulnerable to whatever crap the devs will use to drive DLC/cash shop sales, so either hurry while it lasts, or look for your droids somewhere else.

Ever since Dumb Tamriel came online, the game has not made much sense. With everything leveled to your character the leveling to 50 makes little sense. The game really only starts once you get your character to level 50 and can get Champion points.

In PVP, faction swapping means one faction takes the map, swaps to another faction that takes the map, swaps to another faction that takes the map. Rinse and repeat. The only constant is that EP and DC try to keep AD in last place.

So worth returning. Who knows. I now play two other online games as well as ESO. All three have bits I like and bits I dislike.

Its freaking far from being worth anything. The time u played 2 years ago was the best time for the game balance wise with relatively good difficulty (not mentioning trials). Performance was 2 times better and PVP feeled like the skill actually mattered. Not anymore, u can either get zerged down or zerg someone. Solo play is const. being limited with new class or other nerfs. Resource poisons will definitly screw ur day.

But thats all from perspective of a competetive player. If u identify yourself as a casual go for it. If u expect something more than that or the gameplay feeling u used to, u will get dissapointed.

I do not recommend this game to any (but especially returning) player.

Really wish they would start doing that here.

I played at launch left at Orsinium DLC then came back after Thieves guild full time with some visits in between, imo the game is the best it’s ever been most people never left and became jaded but the devs made a lot of great improvements.

Warframe is a very good game for an action game. The Division is good but it took them a long time to get there. Neverwinter is a no. I have several max level characters and got bored with it.

OP, ESO is the game I always come back to. I love it.

don't listen to him lol, the forums was a bad place to ask advice because u have all the trolls on here. yes people switch factions but never have i see what he is describing. people have toons on multiple factions and he got killed by them and is salty.

this is a great game and worth coming back. all the "issues" people have mentioned either had or have some merit but you can divide everything they say by 10 and you probably have the real problem they are talking about. so i would go on twitch and watch people or try it out yourself id probably best, i think there is a eso plus for free event now?

I agree with this. To me personally, this is the best mmo/rpg I have ever played. But that's just me. Other people consider games like WoW the best mmorpg when I think that game has been a joke and sad excuse of what mmos should be today. Play what you like when you want to play it.
