Just did nMA!

Took me a couple of hours and a handful of deaths, but I finally did it. I completed nMA in a character I just made in NA server, 4 hours total play time.

Tutorial gear, updating with the MA chest drops. Lvl 2 resto staff from the Morrowind tutorial. Unenchanted. No crafted food, only what I could salvage in the MA starting room and a couple of potions I bought with the pocket change I had. Started at level 5, 4 skills only on the bar and only unlocked my first ultimate on the final arena.

Think I need a drink now to celebrate. And also, back to EU with me :p

    Congrats!

However I strongly feel like nMA is really deceiving.
The difficulty gap between nMA and vMA is really huge. They should add a "jMA" or "Journeyman MA" that enforces a bunch of the mechanics that you can easily ignore in nMA. Just tune them in a non "WTF half-shot => DEAD" flavour like they do in vMA.

the scaling on low lvl made it so easy, I've done nMA which every class below lvl 10, it's a good way to grind.
    Groupfinder:
The worst part is when it finally puts you in a group, your healer turns into a werewolf, your tank has 14k HP and the dps is heavy armor, using a restro staff and a two handed sword on the backbar. Then comes the 15 minute penalty before the cycle starts anew.

    Rulz of Morrowind:
    • The first rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • The second rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • Third rule of Morrowind: Someone yells NDA stuff, uploads images, streams, the game is over.
    • Fourth rule: only invited players can test.
    • Fifth rule: one invite at a time, fellas.
    • Sixth rule: crying or bashing on pts.
    • Seventh rule: NDA will go on as long as they have to.
    • And the eighth and final rule: If this is your first invite at Morrowind, you have to play.

I love this idea! Can we make vMA the 'hard mode' option and have an intermediate version to ease us in?

Low level characters get insane stat-boosts till they hit level 50. Thats why you often see low level characters do more dps in a dungeon then a fully legendary trail-geared 690cp character with a perfect rotation...talking about overcompensation eh?

This sounds kinda fun actually. Probably a good way to learn vMA too; create a fresh character, grind them all the way to 50 in the arena, gear them up / skill them up, then go back and do vMA.

When I leveled up three new chars during the New Life XP event, I did nMA around level 16, that's my level for second tier of training gear.

Yes, it works then they know how to play character has unlocked the right skills, and has decent gear lots of cp also help.
First dungeon on my stamblade was nIcP at level 17, was scared of getting kicked until first trash, then I was not scared anymore.

Oh, I know. I’ve used it to grind a bunch of characters to 50. I’ve just waited until I was Level 10 and had a full set of gear before doing it.

The fact that it can be completed straight out of the tutorial with no CP or even a mundus stone is what amazes me. :D

No CP whatsoever. Brand new character/account. I just made it on NA since EU was down and I didn't want to go without ESO. If I had any CP it would have been cakewalk. And yes I usually do it under lvl 10 with my EU characters where I have max CP. It's easy like that when you have crafted food, and set gear from other characters. This was done on tutorial gear with no CP, meaning white lvl 1-2 pieces with no enchantment whatsoever. Even kept the slave shoes, pants, and resto staff to the very end. Resource management was hard and probably half of my DPS came from resto heavy attacks.

As for vMA I have only run it 18 times and I still die a lot, so I'm by no means an expert in it. Tank/healer for life. Yet, while still challenging, this was easier than vMA with full golden gear and 690 CP in.

TBH the only reason why I went in there was the crafting certificate. Yup. It asked me to craft some roast pig but I couldn't find White Meat anywhere in Davon's Watch. Didn't want to ask around and didn't want to buy from a guild. Gave it some thought and recalled the braziers in MA's starting room are full of it. So I went there. And while I was in there, why not give it a try :p

Most challenging crafting certificate I ever did :joy:

Good job. When I first completed nMA something changed. I started to look at the game differently, see mechanics that I up to this point thought were irrelevant, take care more about stats such as weapon / spell critical etc.
In short - completing Maelstrom Arena (even normal) makes you a better player. ;)

true a low lvl in a group does contribute more than a high lvl in bad gear it seems....nevertheless

There is actually a free sample, which is put on purpose on the bar next to the cook merchant. It's in the Watch House inn, right hand side. It's similar to the other starter towns.

Not 4 hours. About 2. I ran calmly through the tutorial and was wasting time trying to make some cash from scratch and enjoying the zone chat for a change when I decided to go there. On foot. Because all I wanted was to start making some writs to gather cash for a horse.

Wait, maybe I should just wait for the loot crates which will award new players with the brown horse. Then again maybe I won't get it anymore at level 12 now. :open_mouth:

You can now enter Cyrodiil. Another run and you'll be able to even equip 2 weapon bars. And if you keep running you'll hit 50 pretty soon. It's excellent for grinding, doesn't require assistance (Skyreach is pretty tough if you try doing it alone on a low level char and doesn't work on all classes), and you can't get people "leeching" your XP like overland grind spots.

As for the crafting certification, I'm pretty sure you can do it starting at level 6. You have to pick up the consumables quests from the bald Dunmer in the Mages Guild and the gear ones from the curly red-headed Bosmer woman in the Fighter's Guild (I don't remember the names). You will be directed to the spots where you'll find the crafting materials you need for the required item, so the pointer should have directed you to the inn. I did those quests on 14 characters across all alliances, the towns and the location differ but the basics are the same.

I'm aware you can do them at very low levels. That's exactly what I was doing. But the quest for provisioning mentioned I should find White Meat and I didn't have any in my brand new craft bag. I admit I didn't look for a quest marker. Didn't think they'd dumb it down so far. The only place I was 100% sure had some for grabs was MA. That's why I went there. For White Meat. Not for grinding.
