Can you change alliances?

I wanted to change one of the characters I have, but it's a Dunmer in Ebonheart, I have every race every alliance.

I was wondering if I purchase a name/race change token, will it also let me change it's alliance to AD. I am planning to change him to an Altmer.

I am not asking this for PvP reasons, it personally just doesn't sit right with me RP wise.
