How useful is 'Siphoner' from the Tower constellation?

Damage from light and heavy attacks reduces the enemy's health, magicka and stamina resource restore and recovery for 0-25% for 3 seconds.

It sounds good in theory, but so far I haven't really had issues with an enemy's resource regeneration/recovery. I would think this is best for bosses, where you would mix light attacks between your skills, in order to keep the debuff going?

It is for PVP. It is also just 15%.

And it is not much useful. (but I have no idea how duel meta embraces it)

I don't use it and I do just fine. More than fine, really. I refuse to use resource poisons or this CP on principle. The CPs aren't as bad but I feel resource poisons are a crutch and 40% is far too high.

It's for salty people who believe, that ressource management is too good, which it wasn't even before all the unnecessarry sustain nerfs. It's those people, who also slot cost poison, because they are naturally evil and I recommend, you really should tbag them and send hate mails and then add them to block.

Amazing when fighting Argonians, Stamina Dragonknights, Sorcerers... it's awesome. I use it on my Werewolf and have seen the ability to beat ridiculous roll-dodging Stamina Dragonknights much easier due to their stupid Earth passive giving less stamina in return.

Grateful to have that CP ability in there.

What u specifically want to write is: Pathethic noob. Then blacklist the guy.

Also if u are playing templar make sure to repent the body, its kind of offensive too.

Hard to t-bag or repent someone that just killed you after draining your resources...

At some point you have to ask yourself: Am I in it to make the enemy happy? Or am I in it to win?

I personally don't take a knife to a gunfight.

Why doesn't anyone complain about heal debuffs? I don't personally use siphoning, but only because I find heal debuffs way more effective. I can light attack you to death wearing Durok's...

They do. When they are complaining about Defile spammers, they're complaining about heal debuffs.

People still think resource sustain wasn't an issue prior to the changes? When you could stack nothing but damage and still sustain, that's a problem. Too much of this game just revolves around damage, or maybe it's the mindset of the players wanting to hit things as hard as they can without worrying about anything else?

I condider every single reward tier and individual point in the Tower to be completely useless compared to all of the other options. I have never put any points in the Tower and probably never will.

As someone that does use this CP and resource poisons(FIGHT ME!!!!), I have 1 thing to say to all those people that send me hate whispers.

The Tower Tree is almost entirely pointless as the buffs from it are meh at best and requires missing out on more useful passives, like extra regen or dodge rolling. Investing in Siphoner is putting yourself at a disadvantage for sustain, and having to constantly respec your CP for PvP and PvE purposes gets costly. Poisons aren't just a soul gem away from being refilled either. They are an investment as you have to constantly replenish them and while you get 16 per craft, you go thru those like water and the constant hunt for mats is either time consuming or a gold sink.

I can understand in Duels that using poisons would be dirty but in open world PvP, it's all about winning and all those little hate tells I get are just proof that what I'm doing is working.

So how it is nowadays? I was distributing CP for new toon without maxed horse and war mount passive really good to have for several months.
Ok 51-61 to break free.
Sprint really cheap now not much point to put many points in there.
Bash - I don't know, though I bash sporadically when block cancelling execute I don't know if it worth investing at all. Especially with PTS block changes.
In comparison to bash and sprint, reducing enemy recovery for ~10% look pretty massive for any prolonged fight. And fights are prolonged in U24.

its useless to try and target resources in pvp or plan around that, there is almost 0 situation where you will beat anyone through attrition.

all pvp as of now is focused on burst, and timing that damage in a CC window, its the only way to actually get / secure kills, if your enemy can react, they are probably at full health. (this is why people cry about hard CC, the only time you die is burst damage in a CC window, so clearly its the CC fault.)


I wish it wasn't, I wish you could drain resources, rely on dots for actual pressure, and eventually just beat your opponent, but you cannot.

as of now, its 100 to 0 or nothing.
