Game crashing and infinite load screens

mid-game my whole game will freeze and then it will same "game has stopped responding" and close. it used to rarely happen, but now it's happening more and more frequently. at this point pvp has become unplayable because either i crash, or when i die and go to respawn at a keep it's either a 5 minute wait or an infinite load screen entirely. help?
