Major Prophecy question

So after some testing and looking at the combat logs, I have a question about buffs from potions carrying over. I was under the impression that sometime last year, they implemented a patch that fixed a problem where if you had Inner Light slotted on one bar only, and also used a potion with the same buff, as soon as you bar swapped AWAY from the Inner Light bar, the Major Prophecy buff would drop completely. I thought this patch was aimed at fixing this, so that the potion buff would remain. Well, these combat logs clearly show that Major Prophecy from the potion is just simply being overwritten and when you bar swap, its gone totally. If I am correct about this fix from last year, then the bug is back and makes me sad. But please, correct me if I'm wrong someone!

Edit: Screenshot for reference. Major Sorcery is 100% (and is only coming from the potion). Major Prophecy is only at 76%.

I can't remember the last time I ever played without Inner Light on both bars on my casters.....

I think it's more "it doesn't stack, so if you use a potion while you're on the Inner Light bar, it's no applied at all"

    You should check that.

But it's also possible it gets overwritten.

IIRC there was a bug with Inner Light/Flames of oblivion last year, so it might as well be that.

Major Prophecy shows twice in buff list when potion active and on Inner Light bar, but according to parses, the effect is not 100% when it should be.

I did read your post. That is why I commented the way I did.

5% magic boost and major prophecy no matter what bar I am on is how I play. So, to play with it on only one bar is baffling to me. But, whatever works for you, or in this case, does not work for you.

However as buffs of the same type don't stack, it is possible that potion buff is not being applied if your Inner Light is up already. So, try applying the potion on the off bar, then swap, then swap back seeing if it goes away during the swaps. Something tells me your going to lose it.

If your trying to avoid using the skill slot, then you might want to farm Treasure Hunter, then you don't need Inner Light on any bar (although you lose the 5% Max Magic)

I'm on my magsorc testing this so that wouldn't be the case here.

Basically all end trial builds these days don't even run inner light at all most the time, and if they do, it is only 1 bar.

My bad I did misread yours, but I know of none that double bar Inner Light in current patch, double bar Bound Aegis ftw.

Far as treasure hunter goes, it is nothing but a dps loss when trying to maximize.

If you are using potions why slot it at all? Extra magic? That wavering mag bar makes my eyes twitch :#

Because it does yield higher dps. This issue is specifically about the Major Prophecy stacking issues with potions, not about whether your eyes quiver cause you want your magicka bars to match.
