Here is the TL;DR version:
I am a 32 yr old male from NYC who has been playing ESO for the last three months after playing Ultima Online for nearly 20 years! I currently have a DPS Sorcerer and a Dragonknight tank, with the intention of making a Templar healer next. My allegiance has been to the Ebonheart Pact thus far.
I am looking for a medium to large sized guild with an active Discord channel. Having only played three months, I still have my fair share of “noob questions” so I would love to have a group to bounce questions off of and help me advance along the ESO path. I have thick skin and don’t mind a little swearing or adult chat, but my preference would be for a mature guild that doesn’t have a bunch of Zerg-ish teenagers and 20-somethings constantly trolling, mouthing off and acting immaturely. I don’t mind a group that has a forum registration requirement or some other relatively standard rules, but I am not looking for any heavy role playing or ‘mandatory minimum participation’.
A little more about my ESO experience thus far:
Having played Ultima Online for 20 years, I am well versed in the MMO world. I am even the moderator for the Stratics forums that are dedicated to that game. However, after a strong 20-year run, I simply was ready to try something new with modern graphics. I joined ESO with a group of former UO guildmates, and we have had a small but tight knit group of about 5 to 6 people. Despite being a great group of mature players, they’re all far beyond my level in terms of experience and are generally online at different hours than I am. Over the holidays, it was difficult to find enough guild members to even round out a full four person random dungeon run, so I figured it was time to expand my group horizons a bit. My main focus has been PVE so far, but I’ve dabbled in Cyrodil a bit and want to keep on building up my experience so that I can compete there at a higher level, preferably with a larger group. I have not yet had the chance to do any trials yet, so that is another reason why I am hoping to find a larger group. I generally have adopted Riften as my home when not running dungeons or searching for skyshards / lorebooks. I recently scooped up a bunch of Crowns so I intend to find a larger and more suitable home relatively soon!
A little more about me:
I work a stressful professional job (CPA for a multi-billion dollar private equity group in NYC) and MMOs are my way to blow off stress and get away from the rat race! I am a respectful and mature guy who has played in many various groups and guilds in other games, so I know I can generally adapt to any dynamic. I am not afraid to speak up, ask questions and voice my opinion when it is needed. Due to my New York / New Jersey nature, I do occasionally slip in a swear as apart of my every day vocabulary and have a "Jersey accent", but I assure you it is nothing too heavy or anything that I couldn’t curb back if there is an absolute no-swearing rule. My play time is generally in the evenings (after 7pm EST), about four to five nights a week and during the day on weekends.
