I liked most of Orsinium, I even managed to put aside my general dislike of Orcs (in all settings) long enough to become interested in some of the sides quests, and the art and landscape work was excellent.

There was one major problem though, the main quest for the zone...

... for anyone (especially a character that considers themselves a Pact loyalist) to offer their help to King Kurog after his actions at Malak's Maw in Deshaan isn't just stretching credibility, it is actually insulting.

The main quest in Orsinium committed two sins that I will not forgive it for (spoilers for main quest):
    1. It did not allow me to
kill Kurog for his actions in Deshaan as soon as I met him... or even as soon as I distrusted him.
    2. It did not allow me to
save high-priestess Solgra, the only character in the main quest that I actually had any sympathy for (apart from Eveli)

Either of those would have been enough for me to condemn it. It did both.

Wrothgar is one of the best zones in the game. Really cool quest rewards.

Orsinium and Clockwork City have been in development since the first year of ESO and IMO the only 2 DLC's worth purchasing.

Whoever wrote the Pact stories didn't keep consistency with the rest of the game. They also have Gabriele Benele as a well-organized scheming villain.

That said -- the original premise of Cadwell's Silver/Gold was that in fact the same events DO look different from different alliances' points of view. But for the most part, this had teeth mainly in quest chains about DC invaders in EP territory.

So i have played all the other dlc's except orsinium and started that now yesterday and am probably 75% through....people often told me it was by far the best dlc, and not just one or two but the majority of people seemed to like it the most. I have to agree - the story line, the writing, the characters, just all seem much better than the dlc's that followed... It even seemed that the writing, story and character got weaker with every new dlc?

Did they change writers or other involved people after this dlc? I think the difference is quite noticeable?

The best part of Orsinium was that at the time it came out, there was no 1 Tamriel, so it was pretty much the only zone a low level character could go and get a real challenge. Now it is a face-roll like every other PVE zone.
