Do I have to pop the scroll for the Assassin and Survivor achievements? It doesn't clearly state it, but most people say you must.

✭✭✭✭✭No, you don't need hardmode for speed run or no death runs.
Many groups will in fact not do hardmode fights when going for these achievements. That said in trials at least (not sure with newer dungeons) there are achievements for hardmode and no death, or all three combined.@Turelus - EU PC Megaserver
