'Lost in the gloam' quest bugged

I'm in the 'Take the key' objective of the quest, but I can't interact with the skeleton key. I don't have any outdated addons, I reloaded my UI, and I relogged, but I still couldn't collect the key. Did anyone else encountered this problem as well?

I left the area and came back; this time when I followed the crow, I found the Shadow NPC in the room, and was able to progress with the quest. I don't know why the previous time I could see the key on the ground in the room, without the NPC present. Anyway, if anyone else gets this bug, leaving the area, and entering from the Machine District again, worked for me.1
