No torches in the game

I would really like to see them bring torches in the game for characters to use. They already have the ability to put and use items in both hands so why not be able to Cary for example a sword in one hand and a torch in the other when exploring at night or in caves?

I use Almalexia's lantern as a light source. I doubt much of anyone would want to give up their offhand for a torch for combat reasons.

Because you can't pause ESO to swap weapons as soon as you're attacked like you can in the single player games. You're stuck in combat. A better option would be to include it in its own brand new slot that can be toggled on and off by setting a keybind.

The easiest way to do torches would be doing them with the "disguise" mechanic I am thinking...

You carry the torch in the "disguise" slot, and as long as its active, you can walk around with your weapons sheathed and the torch in your hand... but cannot stealth (duh, carring a lighted torch would make being unnoticed pretty silly)... and as soon as you enter combat, you drop the torch to draw your weapon(s), much like a disguise dissapears when getting attacked.

And naturally when you drop a torch like that, you will have to light a new one from your inventory, where they would be stacked like potions... also, the torch could have a time limit unlike normal disguises before it "burns out"...

They could even add the effect that animal mobs won't attack you as long as you are carrying the torch... wild animals usufally are rather wary of fire after all...

And of course there could be more options. Like... disposable torches, or more expensive disposable oil lamps that burn longer, or have a brigher illumination, and even the rare enchanted lightstones which are without time limit and reusable if combat occurs due to hanging on a necklace... the possibilities are vast!

Sad thing is, it's already existing when you type in /torch so all the animation and stuff is existing, though, it disapear when you start moving.

If you have trouble seeing in dungeons, delves, or at night there is something wrong with your television settings. They've made the game where everything is perfectly visible in darker areas. I actually prefer it that way.

Or they could make torches weapons, a la Guild Wars 2.

The delves and caves aren't dark enough for them and too much moonlight outside for then to be useful they would have to do work to add them..not worth it for them

They should be mandatory for ball zergs in pvp. Can't be in the angry mob without your torch.

All over Tamriel, theres a sudden spike in Bosmers getting caught for their crimes. A sad day indeed... #FightForYourRite Give Bosmers back our stealth!

Just make it a consumable like a potion. You pop it and have roughly 47 seconds of flame depending on your medicinal use level.

There's already torches in the game. You just need to be in a certain dungeon fighting a certain boss that teleports you to a dark cave.

it's a shame it's not that kinda game, with that level of "mersion"... we could have some racial passives that allow for limited infra/ultravision, magelight could serve an alternative purpose (increase duration, etc.).

They should add torches as 1h weapons. That would be awesome and not require too much balancing work since they'd slot into existing weapon lines.

Alternately they could be shields, but I prefer them as weapons.

There are a few quest areas where you are in really dark areas and do something to light up the area. In those, I found a resto staff heavy attack works as a nice temporary torch.

Well, you can /torch and, voila....a torch appears in your hand. It does disappear when you move again, though.

they had them in TWO WORLDS... there was even a skill where you could shove a torch in an enemies face and blind them temporarily.
