Great DPS Build(s)?

Hello all,

The one thing that has been bothering me when I think about ESO is what would make for a great DPS build. Personally, I do not know what is good and what is bad. I need some help if I am to be honest.

I do like to use melee weapons over staves, if that helps. I also do not know if I should dump all points into Stamina for better weapon damage even though I may use abilities that require Magicka to cast. I also feel the need to have a build be cohesive in the sense the race I choose has skills that benefit the build. But does it really matter? Things like this make my head spin.

Melee weapons scale off stamina, so the more stamina you have, the more weapon damage you'll do. Absolutely put every point into stamina.

I get great DPS using dual wield daggers on a stamina nightblade, personally.

Here is a great idea - next time you ask people for advice, explain what class you use and what you actually want to do.

Magicka sorcerer. double destro staff

Go to alcasthq.com and look at his pve dps builds for clockwork city update. They are decent and an excellent starting point with good explanations.

First of all don't go hybrid. Either go full stamina with dw/2h and bow or full magicka with two staves, if you split up your stats your damage will be garbage.

If stamina go Hundings Rage and Spriggans thorns sets, dual wield and bow. 2h is good at self sustain but lower overall damage (but more burst)

If magicka go Law of Julianos and Spinners garb sets, flame and lightning staves.

The magicka sets actually change more depending on the class as light armor has a spell penetration bonus but these are probably the best generic bind on equip sets.

You typically use one of two skills that use magicka even if you are stamina. Typically they are buffs with long duration so you don't have to cast them a lot. Not usually the other way around though, except sorcerers dark deal.

Okay, thanks for the tip. Does this also apply with passive bonuses? For instance, the Dark Elf has a passive that increases max Stamina so is that also just more damage? Or is it so minuscule that I could be any race I want to be?

Perhaps you did not read the thread thoroughly. The situation is that I am unsure of what class I should choose for DPS. Earlier I hinted at Stamina as I am not too fond of using staves.

The two classes that have me the most interested are DK and NB.
