Gamepad Mode supported for PS4 controllers?

Fix the gamepad mode please, along with the hundreds of other bugs that need to be fixed.

Loads of issues. Half the buttons won't work, and when they do I press 'square' =ability 1 and I pop my ult(which should be r1+r2. It's weird.

Also sometimes nothing will work, it just cuts out of nowhere. Plugged in, registered that it's connected but can't move or press any buttons.

And ideas on how to fix this? What kind of controller are you using for your PC/Mac?

Are you using a PS4/PS3 controller? Cuz the ESO controller layout on PC is for Xbox controllers.

I'm using a PS4 controller. It has both Xbox buttons and PS4 buttons. It will determine what controller is plugged in. I can use both Xbox controllers and PS4 controllers.

Ah, I've only used Xbox controllers thus far. I'm not really sure what the issue may be besides maybe a faulty controller.

PS4/PS3 controllers are not officially supported on PC by either ESO or Windows. They require a program to map the buttons to standard functions. That program could be the issue as it may not work well with the game.
I found the same issue with my Logitech gamepad that was modeled after the PS3 controller. In fact, some combination of a patch to this game and Windows update killed my Xbox 360 controller functionality to where it wouldn't recognize any input. I was forced to upgrade to Windows 10 to get partial registering but then upgraded to a Xbox One controller for windows and now it works perfectly again.

Currently the only officially supported controllers for pc are keyboard/mouse and Xbox One controller, with the latter mainly due to default support in Windows 10.

I have no idea what will help for Mac, sadly. Does Apple support any 3rd party controllers?
The Xbox One controller should help at least and it can be returned if it doesn't work, if you buy from a good store like Gamestop in the US at least.

Yes I have some driver installed. It works fine at times but then suddenly the buttons get all discombobulated and rearranged. My ultimate which is supposed to be "L1 and R1" becomes only L1(my 4th ability) so basically I can't use that 4th slot or any other button. The controller proceeds to freeze and I just deactivate the gamepad mode. If anyone knows of a solution. I'd be grateful. If not I guess I'll have to go out and buy an Xbox one controller. Someone said that would work better.

the cheapest solution is a xbox360 controller and a wireless receiver
both work with no prob plus the 360 lasts forever while the xbox1 is a bit squashy

I've found the opposite to be true, also Microsoft is not continuing support for the Xbox 360 controller. So, don't expect that to continue working. Even a used Xbox One controller is comparable in price to a used Xbox 360 controller, and I doubt you will find a truly new 360 controller anymore.


Although, I have noticed the random "everything stops working" bug that also affects keyboard and mouse controls lately. That can easily be fixed by alt+tab to another program and back to the game, but is annoying and needing a fix.
That bug is separate from the thread topic bug here though because it just stops all input instead of rearranging it.
