On the ship--I'm supposed to throw/explode the bomb--how? I can't Use it.

I am still new, I just aim for the sea serpent/creature that jots out of the water. I think you need to hit it 3 times. Sorry if this is the wrong thing I am thinking you are thinking of. Hope it helps.

I think you are asking about the ship in Firemoth Island for the starter quest of Morrowind? I think there should be a prompt that comes up on screen to use the kindlepitch. So just go the quest marker in the hull and you'll get the prompt to use the kindlepitch bomb.

Yep, you have to step through the doorway into the room before a "Use firebomb" prompt comes up.
