There's something REALLY wrong with its legs. :(

Why cant we have decent looking horse mounts? I mean, exotic mounts are nice, too, but I'd like something less flashy and default horse model is horrible (and the new one suffers from the same issues, apparently).

That appears to be a result of having one of its upgrades visible. I think its the stamina upgrade for armor, but you can check them and see. I think the jingle/holly sprig on its forehead is a different upgrade.

Try toggling the mount upgrade visibility in settings and see if that solves the issue.

Edited to add: Nevermind! I'm getting my fixes messed up. Mount Upgrades (Armor) is for the jingle/holly sprig on the forehead. The legs is Foot Inverse Kinematics.

That appears to be a side-effect of Foot Inverse Kinematics. Set it to OFF in your Gameplay settings, all the way at the top.

THIS. Set Foot Inverse Kinematics to off. There's nothing wrong with the horse's legs. (Well, except for having the usual weird hind legs ... but the front legs are actually normal and straight.)

I'd rather have a horse that doesn't drown in 4 inches of water.

    - Redguard StamBlade dps ["bowtard" crafty girl who likes spinning with daggers too.]
    - Breton SorcMag dps [She's got an identity crisis, but I believe in her.]
    - Dunmer Templar dps/healer [she's a healer, then again she likes inferno staff too...]
    And..
    - High Elf SorcMag dps [It's quite possible his daddy was a Nord.]

Someone wrote an article and made a picture about this. When you look at the comparison, you'll realise just how deformed the horses in eso look.

This kills me. Not just as a horse lover and former equestiana nd horse rehabber, but as someone who has being into drawing and sketching her entire life. Drawing horses has been used for centuries as a way for artists to practice proporation and realistic detail, and yet here we are, in the 21th century and ZOS' artists can't draw a freaking horse.

    More like "past 1" haha.
But yeah, its sad that they released one more horse with a similar model and it still has the same issue. Hell, even Sims 3 model looks much better despite the cartoonish style of that game...
