Group Finder - Why is it so terrible?

So every other game I play has a group finder, and every other one just seems to work.

However in ESO, group finder seems to have a slew of issues - my characters get lost in perma queue, get put into a dungeon already completed, get 'instance full' messages and can't port to dungeon or end up out of phase, select specific and still get in-progress (with no way to select specific and get a fresh run), etc.

Any chance that with another dungeon DLC coming in Q1'18 we can expect some improvements to group finder to maybe bring it up to standards met by other games ten years ago?

Because there is no global chat. Global chat is and always will be the fastest way to hit a group. Make it tied to the finder where you can only use it in the finder so that you minimize the chance of turning it in the debacle that general chat always is, but make it.

Just pray they leave it alone, this is the best state it has been in since they broke it with Homestead. If they touch it again it'll probably be even worse.

Pre-Homestead(and post-whenever they more or less fixed it) groupfinder was actually kind of working, then someone got that bright idea to introduce ready checks.

This. It was already working perfectly prior to Homestead. Even DD queue was much faster (which shows that the problem is not only a lack of Healers and Tanks, but also a bug that just puts you into infinite queues; I mean, let's be honest, if it's possible to port in Cyrodiil from one castle to another one right next to you and get into an infinite loading screen, an infinite queue really isn't a surprise).

None of these issues were there in the update prior to Homestead. No "instance full" bugs, no porting into completed instances with penalty, no perma-queue. Why ZOS decided to keep the ready check and continue to "improve" it is beyond me. It completely broke a perfect group finder. Sadly, we only got to enjoy that perfect group finder for like a month, as prior to that, it was also broken.
