State of mDecay Discussion 2: The Y-Axis Bug

So, as we all know, both StamDKs and MagDKs in PVP and PVE rely on certain class skills for survivability, maneuverability, and resource management. I strive to bring to ZoS's attention the flaws of the DK class. In this discussion- I present the Y-Axis bug. The Y-Axis refers to an "up/down" aiming mechanism that video games utilize. On a DK, the Y-Axis is horribly broken and doesn't perform as other class/weapon skills do. Below is a video of one example:

As you can see: I'm able to Shield Charge across a gap between two buildings at my lovely opponent (my wife)- however, I cannot Dragon Leap nor can I use Unrelenting Grip. Now, I understand that science shouldn't be used in fantasy games- however... how is it that I can run across midair with my shield to attack an opponent- but I cannot leap across midair nor can I throw a chain across a gap?

    It's the positive z-axis that doesn't work properly.
    Leap and chains got changed as you cloud get into keeps as they ignored the z-axis.
    Nowadays you can only jump down or chain ppl who are on the same ground or lower.

    Actually, chains doesn't always work for someone who is below you, either. As you can see in this screenshot- I'm able to Shield Charge my opponent (across a gap mind you) and I can even Leap at them. However, the Unrelenting Grip button is greyed out.

    We're doing the research for the Devs, here. If they could kindly acknowledge it and give us a Soon™ for a fix- we'd appreciate it.

    how about it, id love to run rearming trap then be able to reliably drag opponents into said trap. but the chains have been broken for so long its unreliable.

    I also don't like that sometimes when you go to leap a target your character gets stuck, drains you ultimate, and your wings are just following behind you stuck in the ground.

    it's the only way i can have a mount that looks like it could fly though D: please dont remove that!

    What ZOS needs to do is make all charge style abilities work exactly the same under the hood. When you try to use a charge the game checks if there is a traversable path(ignoring minor obstacles like small rocks) in a direct line between the player and the target, if yes, the ability triggers, if no, then nothing happens. In this case Chains and Leap would count as charge abilities, Chain is just charge in reverse and Leap's animation would be for flavor only.

    This would knock out three birds with one stone, it would put all charge style abilities on a level playing field, it would make Chains usable again, and it would eliminate exploiting since there is no direct traversable path between someone on the ground and someone up on a keep wall.
