Why the hell is there no information on this Crown Sale? I mean damn, if people weren’t posting about it, I wouldn’t even know. It’s not showing up on Steam either, or at least it wasn’t a few hours ago. What’s the deal with that? How long does it last? At least Christmas, I hope? Nope, none of that. Just a random ass sale out of the blue with no details accompanying it. Come on, guys. Then it randomly started early for PS4 players for...some reason. Why is this so disorganized?

    In the past I know they have waited for all the platform sales to go live before mentioning it.. so maybe they are waiting for an xbox sale to go live?

    Interesting. I had a text document I created a while ago, before the additional 14K and 21K crown offerings in their store. It showed 5500 crowns for $23.99. The price seems to have gone up to $26.79 for this sale.

    It makes sense for the change, as it creates a better scale for value going up (where larger packages are a more effective use of money), but it was slightly startling to discover that. Not a big deal, though, I guess.

    For anyone wondering what the maths turn out to be (and truncating the decimals for readability), provided I know how to use a calculator properly...

    750 Crowns @ $ 5.99 -> 1000 Crowns cost $7.98
    1500 Crowns @ $11.24 -> 1000 Crowns cost $7.59
    3000 Crowns @ $16.74 -> 1000 Crowns cost $5.58
    5500 Crowns @ $26.79 -> 1000 Crowns cost $4.87
    14000 Crowns @ $59.99 -> 1000 Crowns cost $4.28
    21000 Crowns @ $75.00 -> 1000 Crowns cost $3.57

    So now that we know there is actually a sale going on, pick what's best for your budget if you're planning on buying. I got my sister some Crowns last week when they were off-sale, but I might get her some more if she can promise to stay out of the damn crown crates...

    Like I posted in another thread, ZoS obviously have no say whatsoever about which platform gets sales and when they get them. On PS4, the sale of crowns are just some amongst a lot of other Bethesda games. It's obvious Zenimax Media make the decisions or maybe even Bethesda at a push, but ZoS don't. Go onto the Bethesda forums and *** about it. I'm sure most people who work in retail don't decide when and how sales are implemented, that's usually the marketing dept that do that. in this case, it will be Zenimax Media.

    Might be but I assume they inform ZoS about it.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    You'd be surprised. It's not Zos/Zeni this example, but I remember someone from BioWare stating they had no prior knowledge of when their products were going to go on sale as that was entirely down to EA. So it's not beyond the realms of possibility it's how it works here too. If anything, I would have expected BioWare had more sway over EA than ZoS do over ZM and Bethesda.

    Complaints about their lack of organization = discontinuation of a popular business strategy? Complete nonsense. That would be another display of unprofessionalism, except with this, it’d be against all logic and reason... So with that in mind, you’re probably right.

    It's not a good change, and it is a big deal.

    People issued complaints during the last sale because the larger packs didn't have discounts that reflected the amount of money being spent. 5500 was 23.99, and the crown to dollar ratio was the same for all the packs larger than 5500.

    ZO$'s response?

    "Lets slash the discount on the 5500, and make the 21000 the new highest discount". Yeah, to get the near the same crown to dollar value of the 5500 as before, you have to spend over 3 times as much cash on a 21000 pack.

    You shouldn't have to spend nearly $80 on a single purchase, just to get the same value that we've always had for the past 2 years. The only reason they wanted these absurd crown packs was to justify their grossly overpriced crown homes and mounts.

    The amount of people who only buy one or two 5500 packs forms a solid majority of the buyers in these sales. Every single person who has only bought one or two 5500 packs in past sales is going to end up paying more for the same amount of crowns this time around.

    Or they could take the passive aggressive approach by using words like, 'as usual'.
