Best race for endgame Templar healer?

I'm guessing either Argonian or Breton?
Is it a toss up or is oner the clear winner?

Bretons are sturdier with spell resist and have a better cost reduction, but argonian potion passives mean you get 12k+ magicka back from a pot instead of 7, not even counting stam for block/rolldodge/sprint. Argonians also get flat health and improved healing done.

If PvE, it's a toss up. In PvP, Argonian master race atm.

The potion buff on Argonians is amazing. You find yourself low on resources, you can even pop just a regular health pot and have a considerable amount of mana/stamina returned. Cost reduct can easily be added to jewelry. Remember Argonians don’t just get flat health and improved healing on others, but improved healing on yourself, which is nothing to shake a stick at.

You can get the other race attributes with glyphs. Other races will never get the potion passive of Argonians.

Just expect Argonians to receive a nerf in the next balance patch, in my opinion anyway.

I made a breton templar a while back before when Argonian wasn't very good. Since the new Argonian I made an Argonian templar and the difference is slight in pve. Argonians do have that huge burst resources, much nicer health, but Breton does have that slight reduced cost so when I'm spamming, I'm not drained as quick.
In reality, the end result is the same, I heal a lot and they both can sustain it.
In PvP, Argonian is winner by far, my Breton doesn't survive remotely as much because he doesn't have the same amount of stam coming in. He can heal through anything, but as soon as he gets stunned and can't get up, he's dead. Argonian by far better in PvP, no competition.

Edit: I'd say to anyone making a healer, go argonian if you perhaps want to get into pvp eventually, pve, maybe even tank. It's a very sturdy race.

PvE I'd say Breton or Argonian is a safe bet.

However in PvP if you aren't going Argonian you are gimping not only yourself but your group as well. Argonian master race in PvP atm.

Don't expect any Argonian nerfs for at least the next 6 to 8 months.

Argonian, Highelves or Breton are all pretty much on the same lvl imo.

so yes, a highelve is a good choice too

A healer I run with has a Nord healer that has healed all trials, that doesn't make it a good choice. It just means a good healer can make any race work.

My Vote is Argonian. You really cant go wrong with any magic race, breton, Altmer, Dunmer, but if are looking to min/max for the largest variety of content, I think Argonian is the winner.

Totally agree. The best argument for Altmer is that you might want to DPS at some point. That is admittedly a very compelling argument. Race matters most to a DPS. There are many people who argue that Tanks and Healers should min/max their race to a DPS role, in case they ever want/need to do damage, and it's hard to argue with their logic. You could turn off your racial passives and heal every piece of content in the game. If you are good, nobody would know but you.
