Wasp following me?

Yesterday I was at the southeastern dolmen in Greenshade, the one surrounded by wasps. For some random reason I had one following me with the 3 small dots over its head like it was in my party. Why was this? It didn't attack me, it just hung out and followed me around. It was actually kinda cool.

Every so often when you battle a wasp it will lay an egg on you that hatches (you're now its mommy) and follows you until it is killed in combat. Kinda gross.

Wasp nests have a chance to spawn a wasp that imprints on you and follows you around like this -- think of it as a temporary pet. Basically you killed its mother and it bonded to you instead of its real mother. Great job.

Sometimes when fighting wasps you will get a baby wasp that attaches himself to you. He will even fight with you, but he dies easily. It's fitting, since you killed his whole family, and aren't exactly well suited to teaching him how to be a wasp.

Sometimes you will get two eggs, and two baby wasps. They will fight to the death, to be the one to stay with you.

I was wondering where it went after the dolmen cleared. That is the weirdest thing I've ever heard. Who thought of that?!

I always thought this was kind of cool, and would sometimes do it on purpose just to have the little guy fighting with me. He doesn't take that much damage to kill or do much damage though.

I wish the developers would make it a semi-permanent pet that only goes away when it dies. Right now the wasp eventually stops following you and de-spawns. I also experimented with trying to get 2 of them, but the first one would always die while I fought another "mother" wasp.

If you wait long enough, the little wasp will grow up and be on it's way. I.e. there's a timer on how long it will follow you. It then just leaves in a random direction and fades away.

When it happens to me, I do my best to try to keep the little bugger alive and try to avoid tough fights where the wasp would no doubt die.Sometimes I fail, and get sad and stuff, but when I manage to keep it alive I usually emote a wave as it flies away and then go back to doing whatever it was that I was doing.

Because you didn't interrupt the ability that plants an egg on you. After a few seconds, you get a wasp as a pet.

Note, this wasp will fight for you, even other wasps. Not sure if the Pet Commands (Y Key) will work on them.

If somehow you haven't killed the big wasp when the egg hatches, the baby will be hostile. Found this out waiting for players during the New Life Orc quest.

Gold wasps give you babies see if you can get three at once, two is pretty easy

If you happen to be a petsorc, your pet will make short work of the little ***. I don't know about the warden bear, he seems to be sort of absent-minded.

Yeah I remember when it first happened to me in Shadowfen, I was super surprised and then happy when I realised what was going on A new little pet, even if only temporary, it was pretty cute! Nice little random detail the devs decided to make haha

I thought it was cool, it was neat to have a little friend up until it died from a deadroth or flesh atronach. Knowing that it laid eggs on me though makes me want to go back and slaughter ALL the wasps. That's just creepy.

I love it when that happens. I usually take a sight-seeing break when one is following me, and avoid fights to keep it alive until it goes its own way.

I kinda wish that when it grows up, it becomes a non-combat pet. Bee friends forever.

I love those little guys. I try to heal and keep it safe until it grows up. But the last time that happened, it attacked me when it grew up, so I had to kill it. Ungrateful little bugger.

Its one of the more in depth mechanics for a common mob. An attack that spawns additional mobs to attack you, however theres the chance one will actually spawn to defend you instead.

Its really gross and i always block to stop it from happening, but still interesting.

This reminds me of when I was playing Skyrim trying to get a scroll, Serana and I were just walking around and a chill little Dwarven spider thing followed us for three minutes. It wasn’t even hostile even though it should’ve been, then a skeleton attacked us and then Serana killed both of them...
