New Player -- Sorry About the Bear

I guess I should clarify that I'm a returning player. But I have never played a Warden, and I haven't played in so long that I couldn't even remember how to whisper people. So this is to the person who said "YOUR ****ING PETS ARE IN THE ****ING WAY"

It wasn't until I had left the building that I even noticed this message and it took another moment to realize they probably meant my huge bear and kitten. I blushed and immediately felt bad, especially since I couldn't even apologize to the person because when I went back, they were no longer there.

I furiously Googled "eso warden how to unsummon bear," because it's really not very obvious how to do it. I now am very diligent about sending my bear away when I'm in town or anywhere it might bother people.

So, just a reminder that some of us really do want to learn. We aren't all intentionally being jerks. If someone is breaking etiquette, and especially if you see they are low level, they might just appreciate it being pointed out. Or not. Who knows. I would appreciate it!

Play how you want to play. Just because one person hates people having their pets and warden bear out, doesn't mean everybody does.

Chances are it doesn't bother most. Don't worry about it and continue playing the game how you enjoy playing it.

I do think its kind to unsummon when in crowded banks or by the dye station.

The bear is moderately annoying if it gets on top of you when you're trying to interact with something. The flappy sorc bird is about 10 times worse and often show up in multiples near writ turnins and crafting tables.

Flappy birds yes I always remove her outside of dungeons unless in queue. Accidentally healing vet darkshade 2 made me realize how good sorc is for dungeon healing,

The Matriarch is the worst pet for having out in towns, and the bear is a distant second, since it's not flapping. The scamp and the clanfear are the best pets. My clanfear is never in the way, always behind me some feet, somehow, but never gotten a complaint about him.

Nothing to worry about. You do not have to make your pets inactive to please another player.

Lol yeah I have had it where someone's pet blocked me from being able to interact with something, had to tell them to move so that I could interact with something. They need to fix that issue with pets.

The only thing that annoys me is Twilights in small spaces, like in that tiny bank in Shornhelm. Don't want a big flappy bird over my head.

It is incredibly frustrating for us not to be able to interact with NPCs, or lootable items because someones pet is in the way of our targets hit box. I see this almost daily turning in writs, and it happens more with the bear than other pets because of it's size.

That said my usual go to is "Warden, please move so your bear moves" in /say

You don't need to apologise, the person that verbally abused you does.

Having said that, there needs to be a keybind for unsummoning pets. Not remove pets from skill bar, reslot pets on skillbar.

Thank you, OP. I always send away my pets upon entering a city, and I wish there was automatic "pet unsummon" mechanic on the city borders, similar to "unmount" in some places. I'm glad there are people with manners, not like some of the above I won't name, who are so deep in their own bottoms they can't see the world around.
Another thing that I can't understand is why some walnut heads shove their fatąss horses right into poor guild trader's faces... Get off your high horses - literally

Pets don't really bother me. Bear in mind, I spend the bare minimum amount of time in town. I barely notice pets. The bare facts in the case is ZOS did a reasonable job in keeping pets to the bare essentials.

I release bears and sorc pets when I'm at a crafting table or at the bank, etc. Seems the courteous thing to do. Now, I might not bother if there's no one around but normally, I do.

Your pets are fine, don't let others make you feel bad. Interacting with NPCs and objects near pets is a non-issue. Anyone seriously complaining about this needs to get out of 1st person mode and learn to point correctly. With that aim they probably couldn't hit a mammoth with a destruction staff ultimate

I don't use first person mode, I know how to move my cursor. It happens and it is frustrating when it does. What is even more frustrating is knowing it could be done purposefully. You ever done the drinking quest in The Rift when a group of sorcs comes into the tent each with both pets active? You may get the barrel, but you aren't getting the food.

I can say that 98% of the players don't give a crap about where your pet is. Ya just happened to run into a bad egg.

If they would throw in a mechanic to make banks secretly "underwater" it would be fine.

I could care less if pets are out. I don’t have any pets myself but they don’t get in my way ever. I would not worry about it that much jerks are jerks you having a pet out does not make you one.

Respect to the OP for the gracious apology. Wish I could be the same, but I’m a bit more ornery. If someone shouted at me that my “f—ing pets” were in his “ f—ing way,” I’d probably leave them right where they were and put the rude fellow on my ignore list.

There is a “Dismiss pet” add-on, which I use, though, to avoid such situations. A single keystroke will get rid of a class-based pet, although I don’t think it does much for vanity pets.

An easy way to dismiss the pet would be cool.. or a way to click through a pet in front of me if I'm trying to hand in writ that someone's bear is standing on. Either would be good.

I remember in wow, people parking their ridiculous mammoth mounts on top of mailboxes just to be jerks... even then it was not to difficult to move to another (mailbox)!...

I played mmo's where every pet and mount stays in the world, even when dismounting. The countless time I wanted to take a shuttle from Mos Eisley to Theed and then I would miss the flight because someone "forgot" to pack his bantha mount so it would stand on the ticket collector and I had to wait another 10 minutes to catch another flight because I could not show my ticket in time.

I never got annoyed because of that. It was part of the game and world for me.

Don't sweat it if someone whispers you because of a bear. It's part of the game and there is no need to unsummon it. I might be one of the few who thinks all those flappy winged twilights add to the atmosphere of the game, even when near crafting stations.

I even wish mounts would not disappear.

Plus remember that with one of the Bear morphs, it will respawn in 45 sec after it dies or is dismissed.

I've always unsummoned my pets whenever I entered a town. I always felt it was rude to have my inter-dimensional demonic monsters roaming around whenever i enter a town.
Also, you can unsummon your pets in the active effects menu. I don't know if it's different on the PC since I'm an Xbox guy.

There is an add on called "pet dismiss" which allows you to unsummon your sorc pet(s) with a single key. Just tried it out with my sorc and works well!

F them where was this, I'm going to find them and summon my Sorc pets plus my non combat pet and follow them around

One time I was looting pots in Dreloth Ancestral Tomb and getting annoyed because a warden bear kept getting in my way. I was just about to say something in chat when it suddenly occurred to me that it was mine! Totally forgot I was on my Warden! Boy, did I feel dumb!

But yes, I agree ZOS does need to fix that issue - other than that, pets don't bother me

Other people's bears and pets don't usually bother me, but I have to tell my own bear the get the f outta my way sometimes.
