Out of curiosity, were they all different kinds of fish?

Its been a long time since Ive done serious fishing but it always seemed like the RNG was weighted by type of fish. So if you fillet 100 of the same type you get 1, but you could fillet 75 of each and get nothing.

While not roe.. ive had 5 tempers out of a stack or 240 raw mats, and nothing from the first 500 on a stack of 1200.

Perfect roe has a drop rate of 4 out of 1000. So I really don't see why people complain about the drop rates when they only get 1 out of less than 500 lol

I heard that the drop rate was nerfed slightly as Perfect Roe was dropping too much on Xbox EU. I have noticed a huge difference in the drop rate recently, whereas before i'd get 3 or 4 after 2 hours of fishing, now I'm getting 1 - if I'm lucky.

Drop rates on perfect roe are a crapshoot. Sometimes you can clean 600 fish and get nothing. Other times, you can clean 300 fish and get 6 PR. If I had to average it out, I would say it is about 1 PR for 150 fish cleaned. That's just based on my own experience with 5 Master Anglers.

Out of my first 900 fish filleted I got 0.

After that I didn't fillet any till I completed Master Angler achievement. Out of the 9048 fish filleted I got 86 roe.

What version of Tamriel do you travel in?

If you are in EU Tamriel feel free to visit the shrine at the Fishmas Grotto (located in scenic Hagfen).

This is always where this one she prepares her fish and the last time both this one and her friend got two roe each from about 100 fishes.

Do 10k in one go, on principle, it's *highly unlikely your results will vary much from intended ratios.

* not impossible though, it's absolutely possible to get 1M jackpots in a row with a chance one in a million

6500 fishes, 73 roe. my friends have similar drop chance with 1% drop chance in 12000 fishes. just bad Luck. try again.

i skinned fish twice this week and stopped after 1 perfect roe. first time i got to 3. second time i got to 6.
i did 1000 fish once. got 5 in the first 200. none in the next 500-600. and i think 4 or 5 in the last couple hundred

Yeah I've gone 700+ with no roe and done 150 got 5/6.

Did i ever tell you about the time i received 3 perfect roe out of just 17 fish?... no i probably did not, but then again i also would not have told you about the time when i received 0 perfect roe from almost 400 fish... its rng just being fickle

Of the 700 or so fish I have gotten (excluding this event for obvious reasons) I have gotten 5 perfect roe, I still have the 5. It probably was less than 700 fish but you get the point.

I feel your pain . Did around 200 at once today and got 0 (and then did 300 and got 6, so it wasn’t so heart breaking). Had someone with me for one fishing hole , she skinned hers and out of six fish got two roe . RNG FeelsBadMan

Had just under 1400 fish after finishing clockwork city fishing. Skinned all in one go and got 26, above my usual average.

There is an addon that will track your fillet % over time. I can't think of the name right now. I'm at 0.71% with nearly 4000 fish gutted to date. That's a reasonable sample size but I'm sure there are many players that have done much more than that.

With an average expectation of 2 roe from 300 fish, your first set of 1 roe from 350ish is a small amount of bad RNG. It happens and it sucks, but hopefully you'll fall on the luckier side from time to time as well.

I was eating a bacon sandwich and fishing while waiting for a dolmen to pop. I caught 5 fish before the anchor dropped. I cleared the dolmen then filleted the fish and got a Perfect Roe.

The moral of the story: Bacon is magic.

If I go through 100 fish with no roe drops, I usually stop filleting them, and just come back to it later.
