[Bug] Power of the Light not doing any damage at the end

Hey everyone, Hey @ZOS_GinaBruno

While doing Raids i ran into some serious issues regarding Power of the Light:
Sometime the final damage tick doesn't happen at all, although it was active the full time. This happens at a low percentage when raiding normally and happens even more often when someone else is using power of the light or purifying light aswell.
In the following you see 2 screens of our latest DPS-test on the target centurion....i lost ~3k DPS bc of this bug...

For those not speaking german, the skill you are looking for is called "Macht des Lichts".
The first tick does 1.9k DPS with 16 hits, the final hit did 500 DPS with 3 hits.

If you compare this to the following solo-parse, you see PotL doing 2.6k DPS with the final hit....first and second damage tick had 20 hits with exactly the same rotation.

For both parses i used exactly the same rotation...

This is a serious issue which lowers Stamplar-DPS by up to 3k DPS, pls fix this.
If anyone has any further information which helps ZOS to locate the issue, pls post it.

    I did another test with a guildmate yesterday. I was doing my normal rotation, he used purifying light on cooldown:

    seems like those skills don't cancel each other everytime. Since i'm not able to fill the pool all the time when playing solo i guess one of the two pools gets filled when warmachine is active. When this happenes the skill cancel all other versions/casts of it active at this time causing them to deal no damage at all (and maybe not dealing damage itself at this point too). Sadly i cannot further check, cause i don't have a combat-log and he deleted the parse :(

    Copy/pasted from a comment I made in another thread by request.

    Are ANY of the Backlash (and both of it's morphs) bugs going to be addressed?

    I can name off a few of the bugs I am aware of;

    If you have two templars, using either of the morphs, they sometimes cancel the others damage.
    Eg: Magplar casts purifying light, stamplar casts PotL,. 6 seconds later only Purifying Light deals damage, PotL explodes but deals no damage. This works with either morph. 2x PotL, 2x PL, or 1x PotL 1x PL.

    Even if you DON'T have a second templar using a backlash morph, and you don't recast early, sometimes (more often than not) the damage STILL won't be applied. At first I thought this was a bug with combat metrics (telling me I casted 10 power of the lights but none of them dealing the explosion damage portion when I was the only templar in the group) but then I watched a video closely at .25x speed with the default in-game combat texts and you can clearly see Power of the light not dealing the damage it is supposed to.

    If you watch this video on .25x speed you can clearly see Power of the light not dealing it's explosion damage 50% of the time, despite him being the only templar in the group casting a backlash ability and not recasting it early.

    For examples, go to 0:31 on .25x speed and watch the Combat texts, his power of the light timer and animation itself.
    You'll see his power of the light explodes, you see a 24,722 WHITE damage splat as it explodes. This is what it looks like when power of the light actually deals it's damage.

    At 0:45 you see him cast his ult and power of the light explodes at the same time. You can see 23.*k in white text, and 25.*k in white text. That is his ult and power of the light both hitting.

    Now for PotL doesn't explode, despite no reasons for it to not;
    0:23 it explodes while he isn't dealing any damage really at all. This one is painfully obvious that it didn't deal damage. He didn't recast it early either.
    1:06 if you look closely you see that PotL doesn't deal damage here.
    1:21 it doesn't deal damage.

    1:34 ^ etc etc you get the idea.

    To add onto my previous comment, here are some parses where the bug is rampant.

    Power of the light only dealt the explosion damage 10 out of 25 casts. I was the only stamplar and the only templar using either backlash morph.

    This one is even worse. In 10 casts, it didn't deal damage a single time. Again, only stamplar and only templar using either backlash morph.,

    As you can see this isn't some "once in a while" bug. If you do any trial fight in the game, you will have this bug occur more often than not

    This is honestly unacceptable, though I know if this is fixed stamplars will be way overtuned. However it is better to balance a class around it working correctly rather than a bug. Though I guess templars in general are just buggy messes but I'm not going to get into that rant.

    Also if you look at the comment I posted above this one and watch the video, you can clearly see it's not an issue with recasting it too early or a bug with combat metrics not showing the damage.

    Have also reported this bug for over 6 months on multiple occasions. Think its working this way because of PvP and would be OP if 2+ Templars casted this on you, not sure how they can solve this. Then again the random explosions and lack of them when you are the only templar is a story itself. Good testing guys, hope they can get it fixed from a PvE point of view...

    At launch only one backlash could be applied to any mob, could be the fix they made for it wasn't really cutting it and it could well be the reason why templar always had lower dps numbers
    Warden Main apparently... 7 Wardens currently, otherwise a healer of every class.
    Mostly active in No CP PVP on EU, blaming the buffbot meta in pve.
    I want to feel like I am saving somebodies life, not like I am carrying amunition for them...

    It seems like this and the other templar bugs are fixed on PTS, hope it will be fixed aswell when the patch goes live.
