Main quest and 1st main faction quest

Do you mess anything up if you opt to speak to the 3 leaders before even finishing up the main faction quest line? I'm about 1/4 of the way through the Shadowfen quest and can't really be arsed doing it just now, but want to get to coldharbour. Thanks in advance.

No you can finish the man quest before the faction quest.
With one tamriel its pretty tempting to do main quest early as it give a skill point for each stage, the faction quest is slower.

That was exactly why I was wondering. Thanks. Was just a bit wary in case it messed the very last faction quest up.

You can run through the main quest all the way to defeating Molg Bal right off the boat without ever doing a single faction quest.

One of my guildies did that and finished the main quest around level 21 (i think) ...

It was in case it messed the primary faction quest up. I remember a post on here from ages ago stating there used to be an issue with the Covenant quest line if you skipped it. Pretty sure the final quest couldn't get handed in.
