Warden - Stamina PvP Build - Which Gear to Use?

Hey,

So I was dueling someone recently with my Stam Warden and he mentioned that my gear was not bad, but more for PvE than PvP. Can anyone help me out by clarifying what might be better PvP gear, and why?

I'm using:
5 x Viper's Sting
5 x Spriggan
2 x Selene's

DW/S&B

I know these sets aren't optimal, but why would they not be effective in PvP? Any suggestions for better PvP sets would be awesome

Thanks.

    definitely not that.

You should incorporate 7th legion, and 2 pc bloodspawn both because they are OP.

The 3rd is up to you, and I have seen many different choices for the 3rd. Maybe someone who actually plays the class will chime in

Malu and troll are both superior to BS on stamden, IMO.

If you want a damage proc set Id suggest Selene and use your 2 5pc sets for raw stats

On my 1h/shield bear warden, I can get pretty good burst and decent survivability with Torugs Pact and impregnable. Still waiting to get Velidreth helm to add to my burst.

He probably said that because you are running dual wield.
With that being said viper isnt really amazing. you might like something like clever alchemist, or senche, a lot more.

Okay the issue here is that everyone has different playstyles.

There is heavy armored brawling with sets like 7th legion and there is more burst orientated sets like senche or clever alchemist. CA got nerfed so it is much harder to use for burst, have to use it mid fight now, but perhaps that works for your playstyle.

I'd suggest Hundings rage instead of vipers since the proc sets got toned down a couple of patches ago. HR is just stats and nothing special which makes it all rounder of a set.

If you find out exactly how you want to play you can switch to something more specialised.

I haven't made a warden yet so I am not sure, but I have played stam PVP. I am very burst orientated but my sustain reallly suffers, I find I really struggle to sustain in battlegrounds.

If you are also struggling with sustain then a set like Bone Pirate just gives you all these resources so you can brawl a bit in medium armor.

    Thanks @Narvuntien

My style is definitely more burst than brawler. I guess I'm still trying to figure out the intricacies of PvP (been playing ESO a long time but never been good at PvP).

I can see how Hunding's Would be more effective than Viper, so yeah I'll likely swap that out.

I don't like the idea of having to pop pots to proc CA so I'm not really into that one.

I think I have a 2pc BS set so maybe BS + Hunding's and something else... which other 5 pc might work well with those?

Bone pirate, not skeleton. It is the medium armor set from that dungeon It is just all stamina and then bonus stamina if you have a drink buff running, dubious camoran throne is a drink so it triggers that 5 pc. You end up with huge amounts of stamina.

Selenes is fine as a proc set... I use 2h so I just have a Kraghs shoulder.

Damn, yeah Bone Pirate looks pretty solid. That's gonna take a while to grind though since it's a dungeon set. Any good alternatives that are dropped or crafted? Draugr Hulk looks awesome too but also a dungeon set.

Darkstrike is dropped but the 5pc bonus isn't great...

Look into shacklebreaker until you get the necessary farming done for BP.... the only issue is you can't have shackle on jewels (crafted set)

2 Bloodspawn, 5 Seventh legion, and 5 Werewolf hide (backbar SnB) is a nice combo, it feels like getting a dawnbreaker every second lol :)

And add a Asylum 2 hander on frontbar
    For more ultimate regen

Fury is the same as Werewolf Hide, but with Healthy instead of Robust, and a different (damage oriented) 5'th piece bonus. I know some people alternate between these two, on a 7'th Legion Stamden. These guys use a few different monster sets, also depending on the occasion.

I wouldn't run anything like Bone Pirate or Hulking Draugr (otherwise my two favorite sets) on this, you barely notice any lack of stampool, nor low recovery - if you play warden right. The only thing you might notice, is a little less effective weapon power (having like 32k stamina instead of around 40). But then, warden has a ridiculous line of buffs, so you can cover almost anything with it.
